Playing linebacker. Vindication for an entire generation of Canes message boarders.

Still can't believe that was an argument. It was obvious.

I truly think Golden and D'Onofrio wanted him at LB, but they were left with such a graveyard at safety that they had no choice.

Based on how he looked last pre-season, he can be very good. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have a Sam Shields-type trajectory.

Dude was so **** stiff and just took terrible angles from the safety position. How he was never switched to LB still makes me wonder. I hope he can stick around in The League as long as his health allows.

I know, too slow to play safety. And some of the worse angles ever.

ST was a once in a generation player....

It's a shame ray ray got lost in that wet dream

good luck to him! he's a CANE and every positive thing he does in the league is a positive reflection on the program

Both Ray-Ray and Jacory Harris simply dumbfounded me. How could both players be darn near perfect in HS, and look like dookie stains in college? Anyone?

In defense of Ray Ray. Even though I agree he should have been a LBer to begin with. As a freshman and sophomore he did look good back there. Sat out a lot of his junior year with suspensions and got kicked out as a senior.

Yeah he was all-ACC as a sophomore when he played a whole year but I believe he would have been an all-American LBer if they stuck him there.

Hold up... Didn't you defend cityboy (wildcatdefense) when I said that Ray Ray should be moved to linebacker and Spence to safety?

How do you people remember this type of ****?

Ray was a great football player in high school. Anyone with half a brain could see that. The question was what position? Some thought dude could grow into a d-end. Randy f*cked him by putting him at safety. Bet he collects an NFL pension at linebacker.

nothing wrong with his talent....the kid was a head case from day 1...could not be coached played his own game...****ed randy and his team over etc..
my bet two maybe 3 years in the league he will **** it up some how...Sean & Ed etc..they had the IT factor wanted to lead wanted to WIN....I see maybe two or three kids on this team with that now...

Who was the mod that argued that Armstrong wouldn't be able to play LB due to his size (or lack thereof)? I mean, he went as far as to say that we hadn't seen Armstrong up close like he had and that there was no way he'd be able to play LB. SO, wasn't big enough to play LB in college but he's set to play the position in the NFL? smh

Always said Ray Ray to LB. Didn't agree with you on Spence to safety. They are both OLBs.

JH senior season, 222-of-333 attempts (67% completion rate) for 3,445 yards, with 49 touchdowns and only six interceptions!!! It's hard to have those numbers against air! Let alone SoFla's HS finest.

And Ray Ray.... he threw for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns, rushed for 1,144 yards with 22 touchdowns and caught three passes for 29 yards and one touchdown as a QB. As a safety he had 70 tackles, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries...

Amazing!

coaching

Wrong answer... Just not as talented as once thought.

Jacory was a great highschool qb because he was in a great system with 3 high BCS caliber receivers. When he got to college his decision making and lack of arm came to light.

Ray-Ray was a great highschool player because he was big, had alright speed, and pretty good instincts (both on O and D). When he got to college his lack of hips, footwork, and speed came to light(I did believe he had the ability to be a good LB or TE tho). His defensive highlight reel coming outta highschool was maybe 5 tackles and people went crazy off of it.

P.S. I will say that they could of been a little better or in RayRays case a player at a different position under a better coaching. But I do feel they weren't that talented (at S for RayRay)
