Ray Lewis speaks to USC football team

Nothing wrong with motivating young athletes. I'm sure he would speak at the U everyday if we would let him. The U is different because we have so many NFL greats that we don't have to outsource like other schools.

Yup, I'm sure they told him not to come down. In fact he might have forgotten how to get there.

FWIW he came and spoke to students at the U recently. Gave two 45 minute speeches back to back. At least 1,000 students saw him speak including me.

He has a gift and quite frankly he needs to spread his message and influence as many young people on this earth as he can. Listen to the video and you'll understand why he does those type of speeches......good message. Anyone questioning his Cane loyalty has serious issues.

Oh **** nah Ray

it's even better for miami when he does this. Players are sitting there thinking, why did our school have to ask a great from another to school to speak to us?.. oh wait thats because we don't have anyone even close to him

Ronnie Lott

fair enough, i'll change my statement

"We don't have anyone with 10 fingers anywhere close to him" is what they would say

Come on now its USC, they had a bunch of great players. Anthony Munoz, Marcus Allen, Bruce Matthews, Junior Seau etc[/QUOTE]

Junior available?

Don't blame him, he's getting PAID to speak to and influence young mens lives in a sport he gave so much for. He's not selling out. Doubt the U pays him when he speaks for them.

The funny thing is...why doesn't USC have any "greats" like Ray that want to come speak to them? Pretty sure the U doesn't have to contract out some former player from a different university to come and inspire their players.

Ray is a great motivational speaker. Not many people who were the top in their field can speak with such conviction and power.

How many of you actually watched the clip? It was a very good speech about how Ray has motivated himself to reach his goals, and you hope that anyone listening to him would value his advice, but it also feels like the same speech that Ray likely makes in any number of settings.

There is no passion there, no tears are being shed, no goosebumps. Even the USC audience politely claps and hollers a bit, but that's it.

When Ray speaks to our boys, I would expect it to be personal, something that gets them ready to run through walls for the U, something like that infamous Michael Irvin speech from a year or two ago.

He was here like two weeks ago and he spoke to hundreds of students on campus.

Ray ain't no sellout
