Raphael Kirby

I hope he does great, but personally we are really gonna need the DT to occupy the the guards and center for him to be able to have an impact I think. I have had the fortune to meet those guys in person face to face, I'm 5'11 and I was taller than him. Good kid, and thick, but overall size is not ideal.

"The guys they brought in have progressed"

LOL

You really can't make this **** up.

We gave up 3000 yards and 200 points in our last 6 games of year three.

Golden has one year left.

if you want to say they havent recruited dlinemen well, that's an argument. however, our best dt is pierre, a former temple commit.

An argument?

Anyone defending the defensive staff has had someone take an ice cream scoop to their craniums.

I am hoping this year is Raphael's I think he might switch to #22 that's what he wore in high school

It not I still look for him to ball out this year...

LB corps will more athletic, as a whole, next year.

Kirby, Perryman, Figueroa, Grace, (possibly) Juwon Young, McCord.

Will be interested to see if/how much bigger Armbrister gets and if another year playing LB will improve his game.

owens can redshirt too. Figs and Grace will be alot better. these guys actually play to hurt people. no more pushing.

Kirby will have a great year. I'll be optimistic and say the D will surprise us all and only give up 200 a
game next season. I hope that Golden and D'Onofrio are not inept and won't listen to the players and make
drastic changes. Is that too much to ask?

Serious? You realize that even the best defense this past year statistically gave up 250 a game. :ibisroflmao:

From now on you can just skip over anything he posts. He exposed himself there......

with all do respect, coach d didnt ruin tracy

Tracy should be lined up against the other teams best wideout on almost every play with bump and run coverage. D'Onofrio and Golden are wasting him.

Tracy really is more of a zone corner than a press man corner. Press man corners are freak athletes that are very strong and lightning fast.

Zone corners are quick and instinctive.

TH3 is not a freakish type athlete.

Tracy is a physical guy, he's much better in man than zone.

You can still be physical as a zone corner but you aren't expected to cover deep down the field as much. It's designed for you to have help over the top so you can be real aggressive at the line of scrimmage and jump routes without worry of giving up a big play.

Quickness and good instincts are very important.

Pure man corners are on an island and need elite recovery speed and strength to make plays down the field and be physical. TH3 does not have that type of athleticism, in college he can probably get away with playing man on an island but if he makes the NFL it would be tough for him.

The difference in athleticism between Kirby and Gaines was startling.

Our LB's were strikingly slow sideline to sideline last year except for Perryman.

It was hard to judge Kirby's athleticism last year but he did have his issues when he actually got in the game. He would take bad angles a lot and take himself out of plays by hitting the wrong gaps.
