Ranking update…

You may disagree but Miami shouldn’t lose recruiting battles to the Gators in this day and age.

We have deeper pockets - both in terms of NIL and a higher budget for coaching staff. We’re in a more sellable location. We have the better head coach.

Miami should be pulling top 5 classes every year with the advantages we now have. That’s the new normal. And we’re knocking on the door but we need a few more big commits to hit the mark
Stop it...we will have a Top 5

Bags, or what you call “tax free” have never been more than a few hundred grand. Any more and the IRS would get involved. Certainly nowhere near the anount being paid by NIL so that is just an excuse for failure.

We have Ruiz. By himself he is worth more than the entire Gator collective combined. Richest man in Florida. Stop with the excuses
Excuses? Stop with they hyperbole.

If you do not think “under the table” payments swayed players in the past (and currently), then you are mistaken.

There are rules that govern how NIL deals can be structured. For example, you cannot pay a high school player simply for agreeing to sign and play for your school. That’s a fact, not an excuse. You can, however, hand him a bag filled with a “few hundred grand” and say “That’s the down payment. There’s more to come with NLI when you sign with the ***-tors.” While that latter is against NCAA rules, it can has and continues to influence decisions. To believe otherwise is foolish.

And to believe that everyone else is doing it and we are not is even more foolish

Manny didn’t have Ruiz backing big NIL deals and a massive recruiting department like Mario has. You’re right, you can’t compare.

Manny pulling the 11th rated class with no resources was impressive. Mario pulling the 9th ranked class during his bump year, with $$$ NIL, and a full recruiting budget is less impressive

*****’s resource was COVID

TrumpyCane wants to know how his last class was looking when he was fired?

will be hard to get top 5 class when we get no love from the "talent evaluators"...

here is Rivals 250 update today.
rivals 250.jpg

Wayne 18 -> 97
Bryant 29 -> 48
Aguirre 86 -> 152

Still no Stafford, Robby or Collins in top 250. They are all top 250 in ESPN, 247, and On3.

Team rankings have dropped from #7-9....

What's up with the huge drop from Wayne? Was he hurt this year? Was production not there or just typical miami hate? That's a big drop

tvd wasnt a jag. he was ruined by the mario chosen OC. rooster is better under the previous regime than this one regarding impact.
Offense this year sucked all around but that 3.9 ypc by rooster under the previous regime wasnt that impactful. What was impactful is the inability for a RB to hold on to the ******* ball. Lashlee offense compared to Enos was equivalent to DNo to dIAZ. It got better but was a gimmick. Lashlee still cant seem to complete a 3rd and 1 with his run up the middle.

Compare this to Georgia where only 1 commit dropped more than 17 spots and 2 new top 250 players...

GABRIEL HARRIS 66 -> 42
RODERICK ROBINSON II 130 -> 56
TYLER WILLIAMS 209 ->130
ANTHONY EVANS III 176 ->151
CJ ALLEN NR -> 190
JUSTYN RHETT 73 -> 210 (Must be on decommit watch)
LAWSON LUCKIE NR -> 222

They also have 18/23 commits in the new top 250 with 2 new top 250 evaluations.

Offensive lineman is really hard to evaluate in hs. I trust Mario on ol evaluations over rivals, ESPN, 247 and on3

Honestly didn’t know rivals was still around. I hate there dumb rating system. 0-100 is only way to rate

There’s only 8 five star plus recruits (on3 dumbass ranking) this class and we have 2. Francis and cormani

Somebody tell Wayne’s dad that since Miami has a smaller fan base and doesn’t generate clicks and revenue. If he was uncommitted and looking at Bama, Uga and Osu he’d be a 5 star. Francis and Cormani would likely be 1-2 and Okunlola would be Top 10 if more blue bloods were in the mix

Edit: just to be clear I’m not saying he should leave I’m saying he’s still a 5 star level talent but since he’s committed to us he pays the price.
