At least he'll get an education for free. That's not a bad consultation prize.

Damnit mane hard to see this happen to a young man that worked hard for that ship.

/why couldn’t it be Jobe
/just kidding
/maybe a little

This is sad news. RR was a heat seeking missile out on the gridiron. The game of football will miss him.

Wow!! 2nd (WR James Robinson) guy in the last few months... But then again, we're talking UF's medical team. They probably forgot to recalibrate something.

If I were him, I'd get a 2nd opinion, as it's odd to have something so rare in 2 guys, in such a short period.

You'd think you'd get a 2nd opinion before announcing.

Wish the young man nothing but the best.

This ain't like the Jobe situation, no reason to bash him even if he was going to UF.

I’m not a cardiologist but I’m familiar with research in this area and my guess is they found a pre-existing condition that would make him predisposed to higher possibility of SCD (sudden cardiac death)

For example, some of you may remember the tragic case of Hank Gathers who dropped dead on a basketball court in college, as a result of HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy). Retrospective studies show that there are a handful of other well-defined conditions which have caused SCD in the past, so when those are found, it generally ends the career of the athlete.

The important thing now for Randy is to focus on his education and to understand and manage his condition, especially if he’s at risk for SCD because I’m sure he will continue to be physically active.

As far as Florida, I’ll post what I posted in another thread:

I don’t give the gators any credit or consider it classy in the slightest for them to honor his scholarship. It would be barbaric for them not to. It’s exactly what they’re supposed to do and what any other school would do in that situation.

You don’t give them cred for not doing something barbaric.

Wish the young man nothing but the best.

This ain't like the Jobe situation, no reason to bash him even if he was going to UF.

I think it's clear that the staff re-evaluated him and thought it was best for him to go elsewhere.

He has poor taste in schools (liking UF). But it sucks that this happened to him.

I couldn't relate on having your dream yanked out like that.

Hope the best for him. Interesting he notes he was hoping to be 3 and out. It’s the normal mindset now a days. I wouldn’t red shirt any player that has pro potential.

No matter how much I hate other schools for football, this is the type of thing that always gets me, whether it's a condition or an injury that ends a kid's career. When I was in my 2nd year playing college football (1st season bc I redshirted) I suffered a fracture/dislocation (like what Gordon Hayward suffered) and my career was done after that.

Anyways, best of luck to the kid. Having your dream taken out from under you bc of this absolutely. Hopefully UF honors the scholarship and allows him to get his degree and work with the team.

Glad he chose to go to UF not free shoes university, he can get a solid degree and be successful. We like to bash uf but my friend went there and now he is a rocket scientist! Wishing and praying Randy the best
