+1 and I think it's a great question.

My take is just like last year with Northrup, Golden will know in advance about these kids and make the necessary moves before NSD to have back up plans in order. Us fans will be disappointed obviously losing out on the kids but Golden won't skip a beat and will fill in the necessary holes to the best of his ability.
 
Golden isn't a moron, he won't be left holding his **** with 6 scholarships to give out and nobody worthy of them. I believe there is a reason you haven't seen any new names surface recently.

Golden is not god and as much as Miami is the home team, its not what it used to be. He is recruiting kids that have every other recruiter telling them Miami is going to be a horrible program for 5 more years because of the sanctions coming and you might not even play because of the death penalty.

If he brings in an "OK" class and fixes the D this year.. I give him a :fistbump:

I don't expect us to get Alex Collins, Matthew Thomas, Devin Kirkland, Keith Bryant, Coley and Jaynard Bostwick
I expect FSU to get some of them
Hey we might only end up with 1 of these guys.

either way we have a crazy new TE, a great pass rusher and baby jesus in the books.

I do expect 2013 to be better than 2012 and I 100% do expect our class quality to be much higher in 2014 than this year.

Where i'm from I think they call it faith. The bottom line is alot of these bigger programs REALLY don't have space for these kids and we do. they want to play and they want to play soon. If Collins goes to bama it'll prolly be the biggest mistake of his football career considering the INSURMOUNTABLE depth the other programs he's considering now have. Along with the majority of the other recruits. I think that ties into why Golden got tracy so late. Howard knew he wouldnt see that field for AT LEAST 2 seasons. Golden knows EXACTLY what he's doing, HE AIN'T GOT NO WORRIES. In Golden WE trust.

Is every recruit Deon Bush or Tracy Howard though? You can bring them up all you want but every kid is different.

I'm one who's pretty confident Miami is popping bubbly on NSD but Golden and staff are having to work twice as hard for these kids and sooner or later it's not going pay off. But hey that's recruiting and he'll just go on to the next guy.

I'm just going to bring this back up since I got negged for it. I trust golden 99% but it is very frustrating that we somehow have lost almost every single early verbal from this class. Time will tell but this class could go either way at this point but just swung towards underwhelming.
 
I'm just going to bump this one more time. I think it's pretty clear this is what happened. Some of these kids really surprised Golden an I've seen him say in interviews he is learning how it works down here. I think he will take what he learned this year and just kill it next year.
 
Imma be honest if he didnt know what it was like before he certainly knows about it now, after this whole debacle with this class, like i said before when all the NCAA stuff is over then we can see how Golden really is as a recruiter

I think that if the games and twitter ***gotry that some recruits displayed this recruting season caught him by surprise,
You can be there will be a plan in place for that next season.

I made a similar point in another thread this afternoon. Golden is fixated on the NCAA but I think it's sheer probability.

Golden took the Phil Mickelson approach -- 8 holes remaining and aim at the pin on every one of them. Phil averages 4 birdies per round. Golden seemingly expected to hole everything.
