There shouldn't be a choice between the two. They are not mutually exclusive as some (not you) seem to say at times. People can walk and chew gum... Or they should be able to.

From the looks of things, Golden can do anything and chew at the same time.

This is a useful video to impress upon a recruit's family that our university has an attractive, active campus in the middle of a safe, upscale community and has things to do, a place a parent would be comfortable sending their kid to - to counter or even preempt negative recruiting before a dangerous picture about us can be pitched by opposing staffs.

If only Al's approach to defense was as good as his marketing.
 
Don't understand why any UM fan would have anything negative to say about the video.
It shows the university and all it has to offer.

I dunno.......call me crazy but id rather see a vid of Al outcoaching someone in a big game, or us winning the ACC, as opposed to ANOTHER recruitng propoganda video.....

But we don't have those videos -- so the choice is do one of these videos to try to move the program further along or do nothing. Randy did nothing. See where that got us.

We know the coaches have not lead the team to wins, but what does that have to do with everyone ****ting on the videos and everything positive that tries to be promoted?

Its not that there ****ting on the video or our campus or anything like that....Theyre just tired of hearing the same recycled cliches' and propaganda




And at the end of the day, all of this doesnt count worth A **** THING if he doesnt win games, and seeing how the defense has been the past 3 years, and the hotseat his boy Dono is on, you can obviously see why people are gettin rustled.

It does count. All of that stuff counts. Winning games just counts more; a lot more. Winning cures everything. Until we start winning, we need to scratch and claw for everything we get. We need to sell ourselves in the best way possible. We always need to be progressing. When Howard built this program he had a unique marketing angle that helped us gather the support to reel in that 1982 recruiting class. We were a 7-4 team when we brought in those animals.

You say he begged to exaggerate it for the anti-Golden crew, but two things:

1. It was his alma mater --- he may not have handled it the best way from the fan perspective, but anyone thinking they wouldn't have listened to the job is lying to themselves.

2. He is the coach of Miami - Now --- did you expect him to **** on the school like posters on the board do when he is trying to make it better or at the very least promote it?
