Well I’m not totally surprised. Chip Kelly is a masterful offensive minded coach but he’s extremely unlikeable. Nearly every places he coached from Oregon, to Philly, to SF, the same two thing keep popping up, “he thinks he’s the smartest person in the room and “players hate playing for him”. If there is a mass exodus from UCLA, while I don’t have any sauces, I think you may attribute that to his personality. Add that to the fact UCLA hasn’t been a relevant program and hasn’t been winning, those kids aren’t going to stand for his schitk for too long.
And allegedly he’s pretty racist.

Ask and thou shalt receive..

I don’t see elite instincts or quickness, not to say he’s slow, but he’s a super athletic kid at 6’4 who seems like a natural fit for what we do. I wonder if he ends up in a position like D Smiff though.

Couple things about that... First, I was always amazed to find racist or people who didn’t like minorites in the football spectrum. Of all sports but to each his own. Now I know there were rumors or insinuations that he was but because of the sources, I didn’t opt too put that down as a reason. Lastly, well he IS from the NE area and that area of the country has been described as not very tolerant (they love their weed tho) so....

Didn't love his tape. Very few tackles behind the line of scrimmage (I saw 1 on a run play and 1 on a qb scramble). Had a sack on a busted protection and another when the offensive lineman actually started lunging at him and he just went right by lol.

IMO He doesn't seem to process things quickly. Seems like he's an athlete more than a football player. Don't think he's what Manny is looking for at LB.

The State of California in general is hemorrhaging recruits and now seemingly transfers. I like it. Would be nice to be able to go out there and regularly compete for some guys we want to cherrypick.

Pass. No instincts and playable-starting caliber LB’s need instincts

Pass on this one. Looking at the tape I'm hard pressed to see how he rated out as a 4 star + his college production is non existent. You can probably find a kid just as good to walk on at Miami IMO.

Don't know the kid's history or home life situation, and I know this may sound very stupid, but what if he was willing to audition via walk-on spot for a year to see what happens? Worst case scenario you make the special teams and practice squad better.

I know kids don't do that anymore unless they can't cut it everywhere else, but it's what I would tell my kid if he really wanted to be some place and thought he was better than advertised.
