Quincy Wilson

The chatter was that he wanted to play cb but we preferred at safety. Not surprisingly, ufs defensive staff was at the time a lot more intelligent in evaluating Quincy than our staff at the time.

That **** was made up by Golden apologist. Quincy even said he was never offered at all by Miami.

Not necessarily. Kid could have been bitter he wasn't offered
At the position he clearly deserved and claimed 'no offer'. Or
Even more in depth, his offer was contingent on him accepting a primary role
Of safety (hence no 'offer'). It's not that black and white my man

We really offered Ryan Mayes and not Q Wilson.
I will always be amazed by that lol.

The previous staff didn't offer because he was not viewed as a coal shoveler and seen as too much of a "me guy".

Translation- The previous staff knew Quincy could play and that he was confident in his ability. Because of this Gluten and Dorito knew they couldn't break him and cleanse him of his aggressive play making mentality. Gluten and Co decided that Quincy could not be brainwashed into becoming a mindless, neutered automaton and therefore was a bad fit for their passive prevent defense and the flaccid beta culture they were attempting to create. Quincy was much too alpha just like his father and would be too much trouble.

So Gluten and Co turned their sights to a marginal talent known for lacking aggression in Ryan Mayes. Mayes no doubt would be ecstatic just to be offered and since he had little innate talent they knew they could mold, control and manipulate him in any way they saw fit. They had the perfect coal shoveler for their precious bend over, spread your cheeks and break defense. Ryan Mayes the quintessential cheeseburger.

Or maybe (a big maybe) they didn't like the type of person he was...You guys forget really fast he was talking trash about Tracy Howard, and Jeff Driskel while he was a recruit...

Such a bull**** line of reasoning. This is football, not the finer things club.

If they thought the kid was a player they would have taken him. The scary thing is that their evaluation was that Mayes was a better take at corner because he had a decent camp against (probably) weak competition and Quincy didn't look as good playing out of position at safety. Once again, trying to be the smartest guy in the room.

Look, we all were still in the honeymoon phase with Golden coming out of the NCAA mess at the time of this recruitment and therefore bought the company line that Wilson was a cancer and that we needed more head knodders. In hindsight we were stupid and the kid responded like any modern day 17 year old would respond when every team in the country is telling him he is a player except for his childhood favorite.

The result is that we now have a secondary depth chart that is ****ed and we will most likely miss out on his kid brother who is supposed to be a stud...at worst, a definite take in a year when we need a major infusion at the corner position.

Al Golden, continuing to **** us from the grave.

Db situation would look much better if we had him.
Starting would be Corn and Q. Wilson.
Redwine & Jackson
Nickel Jaquan could play there and have elder play there if need be.

Obvious the kid was ****ed about not getting an offer from the school he grew up rooting for and his father played for and acted out.
Now if anybody your going to have problem with is Chad hes a grown man acted pretty immaturely.

As I recall, they did, but in a typical Golden move waited until the last minute.
They never did, I'm really good friends with his cousin. He would've been here if they did, the entire family are diehard UM fans

I'm glad Quincy Wilson isn't a Miami Hurricane. I don't like how he goes out of his way to bash a school. Speaks on his character. He's not very impressive on the field anyway.

Is he more impressive than Ryan Mayes or Terrence Henley?
