LOGAN from VT went 23-25 against us that is pretty accurate.
Did you see our secondary last year? He probably should've went 25-25.
I was about to say something to that effect. I'd guess that nearly every QB that faced us put up better than their average numbers last year.
I did the math, and Thomas' completion % was almost 60% for the year, but if you take away our game, he's a cool 57%. By comparison, Jacory on the year last year was 65%, and 60% for his career at Miami.
3% drop doesn't sound like much when you take away our game, but we made him look a lot better than he did against the rest of their schedule last year. Against us: 92%. Against the rest of VT's opponents: 57%. Those numbers are pretty stark.
That being said, like I said in my last post on this thread: Beamer/Stinespring will probably want him to pass more from the pocket this year instead of run, so they have to be drilling him on reading coverage better and hitting the high percentage stuff to keep the chains moving. If he takes to that well, VT will be good in the air. If he doesn't, then Thomas will probably be their 2nd leading rusher and will be risking injury all year long.
VT's defense is going to be pretty good this year, but I'm telling you now--if Thomas goes down, their offense won't be worth goat **** with Leal at the helm, and they'll lose some games they wouldn't with Thomas in there.
