Others may not be high on him but he’s the qb I wanted. Like Cam I think he’s a much better qb with a better supporting cast that has produced and brings experience.

First of all, I had never heard of him until this morning.

But for anyone interested, go watch the Kansas State game. Was his second start as a freshman against an 8-4 P4 team. He had 342 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, and 1 fumble. He actually reminds me a lot of Cam. Has pretty good pocket awareness, loves to push the ball down field, and can fit the ball into tight windows with some zip. He also likes to roam once the pocket collapses and gets himself into wtf moments.

I don't know man. With the context that he's a freshman, I'm actually really impressed. The dude's QB rating was 6th in the country, right there with Cam at 4. Look at this:

Manesh: QB rating 166.67 (6th)
Cam: QB rating 171.07 (4th)

Manesh: Yards/Att 9.5 (3rd)
Cam: Yards/Att 9.5 (3rd)

Manesh: Comp % 65.9 (27th)
Cam: Comp % 67.4 (14th)

Oh absolutely and I would tune into Tulane’s game just to check him out. For me it’s put him in our offense and project what could be with a better/upgraded surrounding cast. I’m buying stock for sure.

Yep. He scans the field quite well and has the wheels to do damage any times he wants while consistently keeping his eyes down field. Accuracy is good, arm strength ok. My only question is what kind of leader and teammate is he ? How will he react under the brightest lights ? Having ND & UF on our schedule the first 4 weeks will test that big time.

I like Mensah but I’m a bit apprehensive on going with a G5 guy.
Understood but sometimes you just have to take a chance on characteristics that fit the offense. Arnold would be an equal risk to be honest just because he’s never done it before. Gotta go with the guy who fits your system the best and preferably has 2 years of eligibility.

Mario’s DC hire is equally important in my opinion. He has to hit on a big time guy.

Been going back and forth way too much over this the last few days over who we should target. I like alot of the guys available.

But I think as of now, Jackson Arnold should be our guy. Treat it like a Justin Fields Kyler Murray Baker Mayfield Bo Nix type of situation.

At a minimum, he has all the tools needed to run Dawson's offense (which ain't very sophisticated or complex btw), plus the added dual threat element.

He is better than anybody we have in the room atm.

He has multiple years of eligibility left which would allow us to develop Nickel.

We may be able to get him on the cheap compared to some of the other guys.

He's the guy.
