QB Luke McCaffrey

First it was us or Oregon
Then it was us or Bama
Then it was us or Nebraska
Now it's us or Penn State.

I like our chances. Especially if it's down to two east coast programs.

If New York is on the East coast and Chicago is in the Midwest, then Penn State is more like the Midwest. He comin'

I saw he told 247 he plans to take his final visits this month, then decide.

He's visiting Penn St, LSU, West Va, Nebraska (although probably not anymore), and us again.

Him visiting us again is huge, shows that we're still in pretty good shape with him and have the chance to close him

Does it seem strange that every time another school is mentioned as his possible leader they take a commit from somebody else?

So,, we have 8 months of 'drama' to look forward to?

What?

Kid is deciding in June/early July.

And given everything people have said about him, once he makes a decision that's it. Obviously that's why he's doing all his visits before committing

Only targeting this kid has worked out. He’s taking his time and all other schools aren’t showing him that he’s the only one but us. I think he comes.

All these other programs taking a QB and still trying to recruit him like F$U, PSU, possibly Nebraska and some mention of Oregon still, and we haven't even offered another QB in this class.

That has to show him something.

I don't necessarily agree with it, but it may seem to be working.

The fact that the staff isn't pursuing any other QB prospects tells me a lot. You just have to think they feel extremely confident in Johnson to be sitting here in early June with literally no real interaction with any other QBs. Doesn't guarantee he's coming, but I'll bet if you could get Richt to be completely honest with you, he'd tell you he fully expects this kid in the class.

Hope he makes his decision soon. I don't care what the mods say, you MUST take a QB in every class, and if this kid drags another couple months (I know he says he's not, just saying kids change their minds everyday)....it's going to put Miami in a **** of a bind to START recruiting QBs in August when it's known they commit earlier than any other position group.

My money says it’s us or us.

I hate putting all of my eggs into one basket as well, but given that MJJ is supposed to make a decision this summer, it would give the staff plenty of time to target another QB. Remember, we dropped Sitkowski in October and got Jarren Williams to commit just a few weeks later.

Can you imagine living in that ****hole in Pennsylvania?

I understand that Yankees are accustomed to living in a rust bucket region - but for someone who's from another region - that place in the boondocks would be a really depressing thought.

That was a gift from God.

Quality QBs are usually locked up early.

We should never plan on just flipping someone late that we never pursued until the start of the season.

Not to mention that our coaches have said that it may be MJJ or not take a QB this cycle.

NSD is in Feburary, people DE- commit all the time..

I honestly can't think of a single advantage to Penn State besides running wild like Denard Robinson in the slow Big 10. They just lost their OC to Miss State too so no one has seen their new offense yet. MJJ would be insane to choose Penn State over Miami.

Unless he's afraid of competition - I doubt it - in which case it's for the best. So I'm not gonna worry about this situation; it will sort itself out.
