Cause a dynamic QB can literally change the trajectory of a season. And they can single handedly win you ball games.

Look at Jayden Daniels, he was constantly putting LSU on his back this year. They don't win 9 games without him, and they should've beat FSU but Brian Kelly is a ******* moron and they may have been Malek Nabers worst game of the year.

I'm not saying Cam Ward can be Jayden Daniels and win the Heisman, but I am betting that he would come here and light the ACC on fire.

If you recruit well enough, you have the flexibility to go spend big at the most important position in the game and plop him into the team and he'll succeed.

I know this whole process has been annoying and draining but if we land Cam Ward, we'll all forget about the process when he ***** ok UF
Key word draining , yet you may have good points here .
In your view what do feel is the Ward hold up , is it we only have on WR who can get open and catch plus has to get our young receiver recruits up to D-I level?

One point I do feel is good is Ward would give the young QB group also time to get acclimated.

So there are plenty plus’s to Ward or another portal QB.

It’s just very tiring going through years and years of rebuilding our QB situation of always falling short in expectations when there time comes.

Actually very exhausting of constant????

I don't think lack of talent is the hold up with Wards decision. It's been stated in here that his dad is in his ear about the NFL, which is always going to be enticing to a CFB player.

He may have had Josh Kelly, who is better than any WR we had or maybe have currently (this isn't a diss to X), but our OL is 100 times better and who says a portal WR doesn't pop if we land Ward and wanna come here? So I'm not sure it's a lack of weapons or anything like that.

Perception is 80% of reality for many people. If Ward, or another QB for that matter, can get us to 9-10 wins, the perception of the Miami program will change from doom and gloom to on the rise.

On the rise changes many narratives including Mario’s a QB killer, Miami will never be “Byke”, and most importantly, give Mario fuel to continue stacking the roster.
It'll show future QB transfers that they can come here and improve their draft stock. And it'll show HS kids that our offense is QB friendly. It's a Win/Win

But do we have a Malik Nabers?
Unless Mario knows something we don’t, we are expecting freshman to be that guy. Maybe J Smith could’ve been him. But I’m done predicting who is gonna do what at the next level regardless of stars or ratings. .

Maybe the next wave of portal additions will have a true outside threat.

Cribby, you said it once that we have our QB, and you are not obligated to repeat yourself because of some angst fan.

Welcome to the portal age. As soon as you develop a QB, they are likely to go to the highest bidder.

I was pretty excited about the portal, but I'm starting to wish it was, well, different.

Making it in the NFL as a QB is probably harder than making an NBA team with so few players on a team.

Why parents push there kids to the NFL is sad not knowing it’s such a higher failure rate especially at QB.
Why one more year is so bad to build your talent and attraction of the NFL .

The NFL reaper is oh so quick even at your first few snaps they know you ain’t it.

Crowder on 610 WIOD said and NFL position coach including himself can tell in 5 minutes if you STINK and waist.

Last I read it was Miami, FSU or NFL. Did anything change? For whatever it’s worth, ON3 predicts Miami.
Not sure where you got the ON3 comment but what they SHOW on their site is FSU 53% and Miami 47%. And they really have no clue is my guess and I believe it is between Miami and the NFL.

I don't think we need a Malek Nabers. I think we have 2 proven guys currently (although one is a big *** bonehead). And we can entice a WR to hit the portal

He's not now. He came out guns blazing in college, then along comes Mario. Then he ran right off a cliff.

Typically guys get better as they go through the years. I don't really remember a QB with so much early success falling off the tracks like he did here. I'm sure it's happened somewhere, but it was night and day.

Whatever he is in the long run, he wasn't helped by this staff. They see players every single day and should cater what they're allowed to do to their strengths. There was such a disconnect there with him and these past two years.

I'm not a absolving TVD of anything. I'd daresay we saw the absolute worst version of him though. Why that is, he and them can only answer. It's our staffs job though to have him look the absolute best and they were a collosal failure in that.
Longo will rehabilitate him. He'll get more in a year with him than with anyone else.

TVDs problems were all mental. He is was great when on his game, but each time coming back from injury or facing adversity he completely loses his head. That is not a coach failure, that is a question of mental fortitude.
mental fortitude? I assume you are kidding. I'd like to know how many QBs would have gone back on the field and tried to play with the injuries he had. I'd bet not many. At least not many in college. If Dawson had the brains to try and help him and the rest of the offense out while he was playing so injured, it would have helped.

Interesting take because Phil Longo has the polar opposite view. He spoke about why he wanted TVD in a pre bowl game interview the other day.
