LMAO. I'm definitely not a mope. I've been super busy the past two days and havent' been keeping up with anything.

Im just messing with you and finding ways to pass the time here until this gets resolved.

Reports coming out that Howard may be committing to USC.

I still think we get Ward imo. Im not in panic mode just yet. Its a good fit for both parties. I think that the NFL talk is just that. Just Ward camp public fodder to keep more leverage and have teams fretting more. Its smart. The QBs are coming off the board, but so are teams that need one and offering big bucks.

If Ward knows UM’s timeline (& prob fsu too), what is Ward’s timeline? (He’s gonna need a team seemingly soon or declare for NFL and prep for that)

thank you. so after the close of the portal (jan2nd). we have over 2 weeks to develop a fallback option in the event Ward doesn't come here.

If f$u opts for DJ either because they don’t like their chances with Ward or elect not to wait, then leverage (to some extent) shifts to Mario.

Ward’s collegiate options will be limited with USC (Howard), Oregon (Gabriel), and fsu (DJ) content with their choices. Ward must hope that another P5 team with deep pockets shows interest or opt for the NFL.

That's pretty much where I'm at. And with the dead period tomorrow it's not like he can continue to visit and I don't see any other program making a sizeable offer without at least a visit.

I would bet money that UMs #3 option is Taulia.

I mean Pratt almost came last year (if TVD left).and this year he can stay at Tulane, transfer, or declare. I wouldn't be surprised if we've talked to one or both of those guys and told them that Cam was our #1 target and if he didn't work out then we'd take them. So they're just waiting to decide what they want to do.

All speculation of course but it explains why Gaby can't talk about it. There would be implied tampering.

Yup. We are still building depth but the talent we trotted out this year was very good. Combine that with the schedule we had…

would be nice to get a decision from Ward before early signing day on wednesday, but i don't think it's necessary. now that Howard is locked in with USC, think as long as we develop a plan B (some 1yr guy who isn't in the portal yet) between now and the last day of enrollment we'll be fine. only reason to rush Ward would be is if we decide to pivot to one of the available multi-year QBs like Murphy, but that strikes me as a panic move - there will likely be a ton of good multiyear QB options available in the spring portal. prefer betting on Ward while developing a failsafe
