I'm confused as to why it's so unfathomable that the kid comes in and starts from day one or at some point during the year. I'm not 'crowning' him but think it's entirely possible and probably going to happen. CMR has made no bones about it and is clearly okay with starting him should he be ready. You could argue that he's in a better situation than Kaaya was when he came in. Better coaching, elite defense, a great back (not as good as duke but close) and several weapons - and an improved o-line. It's clearly his job to lose.
