Program/Mario Perspective

Whatever we get for 2022 is gravy and we’re only it for most of these recruits because of Mario and the players‘ belief in him. The 2023 recruits are visiting this weekend because of those same things. The reality is, as much as I would hate it, as long as we have the coordinators identified in February, we’ll be fine. We‘ll have to put a good portion of our CIS brethren on suicide watch if their identified by signing day though.
Yea the whole coord thing gets blown out of proportion. Kids coke for the HC even if we ran the option they come for him. We see it all the time when a wr goes to a school that makes zero sense for him......yet they still go. Kids are coming without knowing anything is a great sign that Mario is a elite recruiter.

Not sure I totally agree with everything some new coaches walk into situations alot worse then what were in this isn't some empty team that needs a complete overhaul.he has alot of shiny new toys as far as all the upgrades the school has made to help with recruiting tons of cash behind him and a team with lots of young talent that is missing a few pieces mainly on the defense.he already has more talent then 95 percent of the teams that will be on our schedule so i don't see some long term fix here just get the right coordinators and no reason within 3 years that we shouldn't be in playoffs and we should probably win the acc if not this year by year 2.And one last thing this isn't the old days there is the portal with tons of players that can play immediately to make fixes even faster you don't have to wait on just high school guys to be ready in a couple years

U’re looking at “pieces” vs. team. But even w/ the portal, let’s take a team like Mich St who’s a prime example of The Portal, it still took them 2 yrs. In yr 1 they were trash.

We won’t be trash, but u’re underestimating the overhaul & relationship building job Mario has to do

I don’t post much even though I’ve been a member for a while, but I felt I might as well get after this topic. I’m not a slurper or a mope; just GD realist like @Dwinstitles.

I’m no insider but I am going to speak from experience and keep this as succinct as possible (for all those of you who reply with- too long, didn’t read. Hahaha)

Mario obviously walked into a **** show that has been in the making for two decades. Minus the couple of years Richt was here, but he didn’t have the energy to affect as much change as the program needed. We all know this is the case, but we don’t KNOW.

If you don’t or haven’t led/managed an organization, you’re never going to fully understand what must get done to fix a clusterfvck of an organization. Unfortunately, I have had to do this a couple of times and it’s a long process. This man had to come in and identify strengths, weaknesses, current processes, etc... From there he had to identify 50, 100, 300-meter targets and prioritize tasks, duties, and processes. Thankfully he has an experienced AD in Rad to work the larger athletic department picture. I’m sure a few times a week he brought something up and someone told him, “uhhh we don’t do that” or “we haven’t done that.” Which likely led to some WTF moments from him. He obviously identified recruiting as his number one priority, and it has paid off. It was the most time sensitive and program building aspect for the team.

In regard to the coordinators, I’m honestly frustrated as well that they haven’t been hired but I also know there is a lot of other program building/fixing that he has to juggle as well. The reality when it comes down to for recruiting, I don’t think the OC/DC name is as important to recruits as we make it. The style is important, but the young men are committing to Mario and the university, followed by the position coaches. They know Mario is here for the long haul because when he tells them it’s a destination job for him, Its 100% believable. What Clemson had for coordinator continuity is the exception not the rule for P5 programs. Am I concerned about the lack of position coaches identified on defense, yes but not until T-Rob left us.

All you chicken littles need to calm down because you don’t even know the fraction of **** Mario has been trying to fix in our beloved program. A lot of you probably complain about kids nowadays wanting everything now; yet here you are. If his hires suck; bust out the pitchforks and torches. At the same time, there are a lot of you that need to cover up your rainbows and sunshine because there are potential reasons for concern.

Thanks @Cribby, @JayCane20, @Brooklyndee, @LeedsCane, @Boarcane, @Da Jumbo Mutombo, @Hoyacane1620, @SouthParkCane, @jackbenimble71, etc... for all the insider info you can and do share.

****, this **** is still longer than I intended. Fvck it.

What if our coordinator(s) are still coaching in the NFL playoffs and he wants to respect their timelines?

The initial post was fine. But people chiming in with "this should happen" and "why hasn't he announced" are bored with their life and are trying to live better through this board. Criticize the hire when it happens but stay out of the process. Your opinion means nothing to the powers involved. There are maybe 5 people on this board that can make sense of this.

Half the battle is Already won we have one of the best qb in the country that alone makes a team pretty good.A great qb in college can be a very dangerous piece and it's not like he doesn't have good players surrounding him.the Oline needs a little upgrade but besides that the offense is pretty solid.

We still have more talent in the acc then anyone besides maybe Clemson and our qb is better then what they have right now so there is no reason to at least play for acc championship year 1 with the new coaches.

Football is both offense & defense, correct?

Ruiz should be in title. For better or worse he’s becoming the hurricanes Jerry Jones. Guy is everywhere, I can’t even look at **** without worrying about him or Danny boy popping up on notifications

This is why I was so excited for Cristobal...he worked under Saban and learned well...went to Oregon for a few years to put into practice whet he learned. He is a much better coaching hire than any of us really truthfully know.
