finally ....WE'RE FIGHTING BACK....

President Donna Shalala released the following statement in response to Mark Emmert's conference call:

“Since the University first alerted the NCAA to the possibility of violations more than two years ago, we have been cooperative and compliant with the NCAA and, I believe, a model for how institutions should partner with NCAA staff during investigations. In addition to encouraging current and former staff members and student-athletes to cooperate with investigators, we have provided thousands of documents to the enforcement staff.

I am frustrated, disappointed and concerned by President Emmert’s announcement today that the integrity of the investigation may have been compromised by the NCAA staff.

As we have done since the beginning, we will continue to work with the NCAA and now with their outside investigator hoping for a swift resolution of the investigation and our case.

I want to thank our community for their continued support and patience.

Stand with the U.”

Here's more!!!

An audibly angry NCAA president Mark Emmert called the issue "a shocking affair." The review is expected to take seven-to-10 days. Miami will not receive a notice of allegations until after the NCAA finishes looking at itself.

Though he said these troubling revelations involve only a "small portion," of the wide-ranging investigation, it could bring questions to the entire process.

NCAA has big problems.

This investigation dragged on because NCAA could not get anyone to talk.

So the NCAA broke their own rules and used the subpoena power of a lawyer in an unrelated bankruptcy case to get information further delaying the invention until those depositions took place.

This **** has gone on far too ******* long. We've essentially been punished for 22 months now. The investigation has been like the intro to Casablanca. Wait, and wait...and wait. No more bull ****!

Shalala will go HAM at the NCAA. She doesn't take this crap sitting down ,mostly because she's just as tall sitting down just as she is standing up

Nicely worded (legally loaded) statement by the Prez. Very Smart woman that Shalala.....

That's karma for those ****rags.

That also enhances our chances with a young balling RB from S. Plantation.

Like I've said since the beginning and have been ripped for it, Donna will play nice right up until it's time to land the KO punch. Perfect timing Donna!

well played.webp

It sounds like the NCAA sent its rough draft to UM and before the official NOA came about. Donna informed them before you make this official you should probably know this.

WELL PLAYED!

Also I found it very ironic that a institution that monitors inappropriate behavior is using inappropriate behavior to investigate its suspected inappropriate members. Whole thing seems rather hypocritical.

We've taken 3 postseason bans. Let's call it even.

May a new era in Miami Hurricane football finally begin. The Golden Era.

I don't trust anyone who doesn't take a crap sitting down...

Plus the BS wait, plus the negative publicity, plus all the kids that we're fed BS by other schools about us getting it in the a$$.

I say time served with the 2 year ban and call it a day.

Not that it matters, but I think they had the bankruptcy info for quite some time -- and definitely before the threats a few months ago.
