... for no Northrup, Howard, Hamilton, Harvey-Clemons, or Young.

I have no inside info, but signing days sure are a lot easier to enjoy when you go in with extremely low expectations... and it's not invalid just because we no longer have Shannon, the odds are still against us on these guys.

Just sayin', been watching signing days since mid 90s and there are a lot more misses than hits... the two years that were the exception (Coker's big year and Shannon's 08 class) were arguably the most destructive signing classes we've had since some of Erickson's.

Just an FYI while Northrup might go else where he is currently committed to us

Yes... but still... better to prep for the worst with some of the factors involved (his city, his high school, his family, and Clemson/FSU involvement). A lot easier to maintain your sanity.

Already prepared.

We can't hold all of these commits in the first place...let's just be realistic.

1, and we should be elated...0, and I still think you walk away from signing day thinking Golden and the staff did a **** of a job laying down the foundation of their team for the next 3-4 years.

agree 100%. Crawford was a nice consolation prize for Howard. 1 of these guys would be the cherry on top

So you're saying we keep our current class minus Northrup (including Crawford)??? Given that I still think we out kicked our coverage for a 6-6 year with scholarship losses pending. That would leave us with a top 12-15 class, yes? Not bad for AL 1st full year.

*** that, what a terrible attitude to have. Not expecting all of them or even three, but with this staff, I expect to be pleasantly surprised.

If not, I'm not gonna complain cause I know how much effort they put in.

I think we add the Louisville DT and Jawand Blue, outside shot at young and extreme outside shot at Howard, but expecting the Ville DT and Blue. And yer **** skippy that's outkicking the coverage when you consider the **** product that UM football's been for the last 5 years. I think our staff did an outstanding job considering that.

I agree but there are will be those that think we should have recruits knocking down our door to get in or, that Al let them get away.

You ain't gotta agree, I'm just dispensing some disappointment vaccination. If things turn out great, the day's that much better.

I mean, at this point, everything is icing on the cake...we're shooting for superstars late in the game, after 6-6, no bowl, possible sanctions, huge NCAA investigation...strong work by Golden and the staff regardless of the Maraschino Cherries on top that we're waiting on, on signing day.

And, I think Golden and the staff have backup plans...for Northrup, and for any other spots we have left...which is exactly what you want going into the day. Everything is lined up for a good day regardless of Howard, Young, Hamilton, et al of the big fish.

and the backup plans aren't scrubs from Northwestern, their local studs committed to decent programs, who in the past, have been the kind of players that have sunk us when playing against them

We're behind on every single one of those kids, except MAYBE Northrup, whose dream school has always been FSU so you decide there.

The kids who really want to be Canes... are Canes already. Take a look at our class, and do a cartwheel. If we pull even one more kid, and include Northrup in that, I will be thrilled. That said, its awesome to see the staff being relentless to the very last day, going up against the very best of the SEC to try to steal a kid. Recruiting is a lot like hitting home runs. You strike out a lot, but if you get a blast every 15 at bats your in the HOF.

Even if we lose Northrup, this staff deserves a standing ovation. Coming off 6-6 and with probation looming... to do what they did? One of the great collective recruiting jobs any staff has done in years.

Kudos.

What I'm expecting is Northrup to bolt, we pick up Ivery (Louisville DT) and hold on to what we got.

Anything else, to me, will just be gravy.

**** that. Ole Mushmouth isn't the Sheriff around here anymore. We don't go into signing expecting to come up empty anymore.

Again... you ain't gotta buy what I'm sellin'. But the day will be better for you if you do.

God it's nice to read a board with members who actually have a level head about things and see just what a great job this staff has done.
