Prediction: Steve Sarkisian to USC After Season's Over

Herm Edwards would be a good choice. Failed NFL coach like Carroll in big market and strong personality.

Chris Peterson would be a good choice...Boise is not Boise anymore. Herm Edwards would mos def be a good choice, but I think he's too much into ESPN. USC has a lot of coaching alums in both NFL and College so the pool to chose from is deep.

I also think Chris Petersen would be a solid choice for them.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see why Grudens name is being thrown around so much on espn and message boards. He has never been a college Head Coach before and only reputable assistant jobs were for a 7-5 Tennessee team as a GA and a 6-5 Pitt team as an offensive assistant. He had good teams in Oakland, however the second half of his coaching career was fielding average teams at best..

I think USC goes with stability here and a recognizable successful college name. I think it'll be Petersen, with an outside shot at chip kelly or possibly del rio (goes against my logic above, but he has publicly stated he wanted to coach for them and he's alumni so who knows)

Back when we hired Shannon, I was recommending Gary Patterson. Still believe he would be hugely successful on a bigger stage, bc he is still hungry and a **** good coach.

I read on another UM site that is a bastion of USC fans that Kiffin was/is a much better corch that Sark, so why would USC be interested in the inferior Sark?

It's going to take someone who is telegenic. I think Franklin and Strong would be good choices. I don't think Peterson is interested. His name comes up, but he has a nice, low-pressure job in Idaho. Sometimes the money just isn't worth it.
