According to many its meaningless, no one should play, everyone will get hurt, but Mario has to win.
Recap from Spring and Summary: Every player on the team looks great, especially all the new guys, Lofton is the next Reggie Bush/Shockey/Megatron. Emory, at least for negotiating purposes is still the god (don't want portal QBs to think we are desperate, wink, wink)

Recap from the BYE: We need to go 1-0. Ignoring the noise. In the bunker. Miami is back to work. Coaches feel really good about the guys in the room for the game. Next man up. All WRs expected to step up. Elite human beings.

It is meaningless. *
No one said everyone will get hurt. Some said there’s a risk of injury because there is.
I don’t recall seeing the third comment, but if you say so, ok.

* in the name of Christmas spirit, I’ll change it to “it’s as close to meaningless as you can get without actually being 100% meaningless.”

Cam Ward is playing. That means something to the fanbase.

Unless you're one of those who complain for sport.

Just because you have reasoned it in your mind the game meaningless, doesn't mean it is. Iowa State is getting on a jet plane to fly halfway across the country, the game is on ESPN, and many fans are spending hard earned dollars to watch the game in person. It goes on both team's records.

The injury risk is small, but you have top 10-20 draft picks playing in playoffs. What if they rip their ACL on first drive of the game. Why should they play in playoffs? Abdul Carter could never play another snap in college, and is basically a top 10 draft pick. Why should he play in the playoffs then? They probably aren't winning the NC, so whats the point?

Yay! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Cam is playing!!! The game’s significance hasn’t changed with him playing. We aren’t winning the ACC or making the playoffs even if we win. Sure it will be exciting to see him one last time. Aside from that, bleh. It’s a consolation prize.

That last sentence is dumb. I comment on here enough that you know that’s not me.

Cute logic. If you can’t see the difference between a playoff game and the Poöp Tarts Bowl, we can’t be friends.

I don't know stats, but the injury risk is probably higher every single time they get behind the wheel of a car.

They play football, it's a game. And as a competitor you go and you play, every single chance you get to showcase your skills.
Many of them are getting paid already and should have insurance policies, if they don't, that's on them and whatever genius they have representing them and their finances.

To be fair, Cam made his case midway through the season and his draft stock had already soared, not to mention his NIL value. So if you want to put things into context he played several meaningless games.
