Practice 11 notes

Hertelou just came on campus from JUCO and is already stronger than every other DL. lulz at 'U Tough'.

Willing to bet that Terrance Cody immediately became Alabama's strongest guy the second he stepped foot on campus.

There are plenty of big, strong mother ****ers at Junior Colleges, otherwise no one would recruit those **** holes.

Think it was that other JUCO, the Aussie Williams.

He came in there strong as Samson pre haircut.

Looked like he spent his childhood wrestling actual hippos.

I think crocs might be more geographically accurate.

Seen enough from Dobard to realize that he's our best TE. Dude is fluid, aggressive and natural.

Although Gus is our biggest RB, Tucker seems to be the toughest runner. That dude just goes! When he gets the ball he ain't screwin' around.

I just assume that if I can think of something dangerous, they got it in Australia.

Agreed about Dobard. He should be our primary receiving Tight End. Walford is solid but Dobard has the chance to be an ALL ACC type.

O'Donnell always seems to be open and he is a pretty big boy. Also seems to be our fastest tight end.

Either way, we seem to have 4 big, fast, soft handed tight ends who can maul you at the point and mismatch you up field.

I'll say it again: I expect Sandland to be the day one starter but fully expect Standish to be getting his fair share of reps by mid-season. 2015 & 2016 will be Standish's years to shine. It'll be up to him to hold off the kid from Norcross.

Warlord's going to be starting, again. Standish has also been repeatedly praised by Golden during the spring. Akpejiori will probably be used in for specific situations/match-ups (fades in the end zone). Don't see Sandland doing much other than run blocking and being an occasional check-down option. Seems stiff and has trouble separating. I just don't see him receiving a significant share of targets if Warlord and Standish are your 1 and 2, with guys weapons like Coley and Dorsett on the outside.

first thought that came to my mind. You know those juco programs dont have strenuous strength and conditioning programs at all.
I'm still not a fan of Swasey in the strength program...hes a skills guy that does good work with speed and conditioning.
Never forget on eo the first raising cane videos when they were showing the weight room and he was so lackadaisical in there and at one point it was a clip of seantrel an he asked him what he had on the rack....i looked @ the computer confused...really a strength coach "asking" a player something in the weightroom. In my playing collegeball the s&c coach was ALWAYS a d*ck...a guy always yelling and telling you sh*t to do or to add more...a guy you usually dont like. Swasey is a defacto speed/db coach for us...

Was my fav recruit in the class.....next to coley. Kid said f everybody f the sec im going to Miami and didnt waver. Also when asked who wanted to be his host onhis recruiting visit dude said Darrius Hughes.lol

Naw Dobard was noticable to me last yr..dude is aggressive as **** in the run game, blocking. But so far this spring he has shown speed ad soft hands....kid is big size wise....as th eyrs go on and he trims the baby fat we might have another Bubba Franks on our hands as he is a complete te.

he is just more naturally strong doesnt mean that the other guys havent gained strength through U tough and that we will be remarkely better this year because of all the athletes on the field

In addition to getting an average jump off the line of scrimmage from a three-point stance, Dobard shows versatility as he can be split out as a wide receiver. Edna Karr’s offense utilized bubble screens to Dobard since his 4.6 40-speed was enough to outrun defenders.
