Potential Transfer QB Option?

I've read some possible justin fields smoke out there.

We'll see what happens, but the transfer/non restriction rules have changed the way the crootin game will be played from now on. Recruiting just isn't for HS kids anymore. You need to somehow/someway recruit the kids who want to transfer from other programs.
Mansell has stated on the UGA 247 forums that one of Fromm or Fields won't be at UGA at the start of next year and with how little Fields has played it looks like him. It's possible Kirby will leave Fromm in until the playoffs are no longer a possibility, which is dumb imo since anyone can see UGA won't beat Bama this year regardless. If Fields does transfer I'd guess Auburn, PSU, and OU would get hard looks and possibly Miami if Haselwood ends up there. Some UGA fans are a bit irrational and think Fields will put UGA over his career and pull a Shockley, but I don't see that happening. Whenever confronted with the obvious they just point to some recent article saying that Fields is trying to recruit Haselwood to UGA.

Man give me Fields and Haselwood. Perry or Williams in 2019 when Fields sits out then Fields throws his name in there for 2020.

Honestly, I am sick of dual threat QBs. There are usually only a handful that are consistently accurate with most usually throwing high. Give me a Dorsey type that has to use his head and get the ball out quick to our skill players and let their talent do the rest. Don’t give me the usual line about our OL. A much less predictable offense would greatly solve that problem. We have All American talent at every skill position on O except QB (maybe Williams). They just need the ball and some space.

I agree with everything except the first statement, because the evolution of football and it’s trajectory suggest otherwise, Duel threat QBs with accuracy are the future of football in terms of the QB position, especially now because we’re seeing a generation of defensive linemen and edge rushers who are freakish athletes (Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack) with high football IQ as well (Von Miller, JJ Watt) so the days of having a non mobile QB who’s a surgeon on the field, who stands in the pocket all day and delivers throws like Dorsey and P Manning are coming to an end. Relying on beating schemes every week while taking punishing blows from sacks will shorten their QB shelf life, that’s why this new generation of QBs who can beat you with their arm and feet are finding success in college and in be NFL (Pat Mahomes, Carson wentz, Baker mayfield to some degree) these are the QBs that Miami needs to offer, diamonds in the rough players with rare intangibles.

I respect your point. Still, the best way to counter that is to allow your offensive scheme to evolve and counter those threats. I think Richt started this whole downward spiral when he ran Allison off instead of scheming around his abilities. With that said, I would have loved to have had Mayfield last year. Finding those diamonds in the rough isn’t so easy even with the elite camps these days.
