Potential RS according to Matt porter

Can some of you comprehend? This is what Porter thinks could RS. Nowhere does he say that they are.

Btw, Porter is the best beatwriter covering the Canes. The others flat out suck!

SN: RT @mattyports: @ktap444 going by what I see and what the coaches tell me, those are the guys I think could redshirt. Doesn't mean all will.

Not saying much.

My God! I got on the bus, but "Wait till Heaps has his timing down (Heaps, in 5 years, has his "timing" down when he thows 3 INTs for every TD, according to stats) and Wait till Williams to get healthy" is NOT the
excuses I signed up for.

You do know that if we do a Russell Bowl on Labor Day with Heaps, the season is over and NO WAY Kaaya sees a snap, right?

Golden would have to be stupid to play Kaaya after that. If he balls out, then he blew 2014 playing a World renkown dud against UL. If he doesn't ball out, well then, write of 2015 as well.

If Rosier is here for baseball as well and gets a red shirt this year does that ship count towards football?

#MyOpinion. Everybody on that list will RS except Gray. Heaps will start initially and then it will be between him, Williams and Olsen. Unless they all look terrible then "Hi Felicia"...enter the Messiah. Gayot and Gray will get special team work only unless somebody get injured. Gray will showout on the practice squad and then get moved to receiver next year. Also im not 100 percent sure on Moten redshirting.

Don't see the point in shirting Gray. I feel like he's gone in three years regardless.

Use him.

Someone is going to have th explain the Gray hype to me. Coaches seem to indicate he is not ready to contribute in a meaningful way and we want him out there immediately because he's a lock to go to the league in 3 years

So far from camp vids havent seen that D Cook burst they were talking about, hope Im wrong though.

Exactly. People on here were hyping him more than Yearby. From what I've seen, he isn't close to Yearby yet. I'm all in for sitting him this year and giving him an extra year to develop. I see him as a Jason Geathers type contributor. Won't be our starting rb but can contribute to the team in a bunch of ways in his junior and senior seasons

Gray is "The Truth" as an athlete but he's no comparison to Yearby as a rb. He's just filling in till Scarlett, DW and Cronkrite get here in 15. Then he will be moved to receiver and look like a Cane version of A.Boldin.

Even if Gray is behind in the playbook, he could still help on special teams. For that reason alone I don't expect him to RS. Same with Hester. Golden isn't hesitant to burn a shirt for special teams. If they can help us on special teams they won't shirt.

If Kayaa shirts that must mean 1 of a few things: A) Our staff is really confident in Heaps B) Williams is really close to being back C) Olsen may have his **** together (lulz)

I would like to see DJax and Moten shirt. Jax is really raw having only converted to football this past season. And Moten shouldn't be relied upon as a true freshman at DT. He needs to get stronger, regardless how big he is. Him being on this list is actually a good sign for our DL.

Langham probably is too far behind to make an impact this season.

Njoku and Herndon are buried on the depth chart. Probably wouldn't even see garbage time PT. Add some separation between classes by shirting those two.

Damnit wanted to rep you but pressed like instead. Great post.

I was hoping / expecting both DJAX & Moten to get burn.
Don't know how much you rock with him but I see his tweets posted here a lot. FWIW this is who he projects as RS this year. Pay attention to the last name...

RT @mattyports: "@Fins97: potential redshirts this year?" McCray, Smith, Langham, Njoku, Herndon, Linder, Gray, Rosier, DJax, Mayes, Moten, Hester, Kaaya.

I was hoping we wouldn't need them to.

Says a lot about the players ahead of them on the d line.

I thought he was cook 2.0 the way they spoke of him on here, same with Curtis porter. If you came here to learn about porter you thought he was Warren Sapp. I want to see chocolate week 1 and see if he can run away from DBS at this level. If he can do that then we got something, same **** with stacy last year I said if that kid can run away from people he's going to be a star because his routes were sick.

If he's the truth how the *** can someone fill in for him? Lol

That's like saying duke is filling in for Scarlett and duck is a freshmen, I'm going by what they say on here bout Gray. I'm expecting all world from the kid.

Prepare to be disappointed. Go watch his high school highlights, he's not a burner. Personally, I don't really get the gray hype. I watched his high school highlights on youtube and he looked alright. Good but not great I would say. I would be surprised if he ends up as some superstar here.
