My thoughts exactly^^Etheridge kid.
interested in miami and probably a lock if we decide to offer
We have enough safety depth? I disagree. We need a starter if Lucas doesn’t move there. I feel like he should though. I want Lucas, OJ, Poyser, OConner, and Brantley all on field together and that’s how you do itDidn't follow Auburn at all. But kid has no production. We have enough depth, need a starter.
If we can even improve depth, that's still a good move.Didn't follow Auburn at all. But kid has no production. We have enough depth, need a starter.
This was the move to make prior to spring practices if Lucas was open to it but now that he established himself as the top cb on the team I doubt they move him.Don't particularly get why we aren't moving Lucas to Safety tbh.
We have 5 likely high priced Experienced DBs currently: Brantley, OJ, Lucas, Poyser, O'Conner. Two of those guys have Safety Experience. Only 5 are likely to get significant snaps in any given game. Then You add Damari Brown to that list, and it is clearly to me that to get the best players on the field we should absolutely be going with Lucas at Safety along with Poyser.
I guess if we can get another top Portal Safety, sure. But Having Lucas play Safety imo actually has a big impact because it reduces the need to spend big on DB in portal, and for us to NEED a safety. And maybe that frees up more money for WR and DT....
We still need a safety no matter what, but like We just brought in a very big freshman CB class who are talented, brought in 2 portal CBs, have 1 Starting CB returning, and have Damari who was in line to start last year (who also could/should move to safety!).... Just not seeing why we wouldn't try to have Lucas be our starting Safety... Seems like we are bringing in that UF Safety as a depth Safety. Don't think he is really enough, but I'm fine with it if it meant additional money at DT. But it'd require Lucas and maybe even Damari at Safety and then have Spring Portal DB be less pressing of a need, and allow us to just get the best one we can for a good price...
Any thoughts @Coach Macho @Memnon ?
