Possibility of Ed O as Defensive Coordinator

Two issues I see:

- Ed O has never been a DC before, has no track record.

- As much good as he did himself this season, many are going to remember how he left. Throwing a fit cause he didn't get the job. Many are going to say "Same old Coach O"

Dorito has been a DC before, and he has led the worst defenses in the history of UM football

Throwing a fit because he didn't get the job? They took a guy who has consistently won 8 games. I'd be ****ed too

Part of the profession is not getting the job. You need to act accordingly. Especially with the track record he has.

Also, if AG replaces D it will be with a "slam dunk" type hire, not someone without experience.

Why Would we want someone here as a 1st time DC? Position coach yes but 1st time DC ...um No.

Where does Ed Orgeron end up? At this point, my guess is Orgeron will be either the defensive coordinator at Miami (FL) or the head coach at UL-Lafayette. Neither position is open at the moment, but if Louisville thumps Miami (FL) in the Russell Athletic Bowl, Al Golden will have to address the Hurricanes’ defense, which has allowed 821 yards rushing and 9 rushing touchdowns in the last three games against Duke, Virginia, and Pitt. Orgeron loved his experience coaching at Miami from 1988-1992 and would stir up recruiting in Dade and Broward counties before signing day. A lot of things would have to happen for the UL-Lafayette to come open, but it’s possible. If Jimbo Fisher lands the Texas job, Florida State could hire James Franklin. Some people think Mark Hudsepth would have a chance at the Vanderbilt gig.

Possibility is 0% because we (unfortunately) have a defensive coordinator still

So to correct our horrific Defense, we are going to hire a guy with zero coordinator experience??

But Valid, it's the ragin cajun E. Ogeron. Some people see a big name and think that's going to fix everything.

Has Al made any slam dunk hires to date? Coley called the offense one year at FIU and they were terrible.
