Ponce’s hire is incredibly problematic because he’s likely our 2023 OC

1) Mario will find the best OC for the job
2) Why complain about our QB coach who has OC experience working with one of our QBs? If anything Ponce would up the reliance on the QB vs our current OC.

Look, after a slow start, Mario has done a really good job with his hires, but Ponce as QB coach is concerning, because he almost certainly took this job with sweetener at the end. Namely, when Gattis leaves he’d be the leader in the clubhouse for OC.

Im certainly not trying to stir things up, but this is a problem. It’ll set us back in a year in which we might be able to seriously contend (2023). Ponce at OC would be the weak link on the staff

Doom and gloom outlook forsure. I would take the opposite approach and say ponce does well with a loaded qb room and gets a p5 oc job before Miami’s is on the table. To be honest with you I don’t see Mario in the promising game of anything as a coach. Just doesn’t seem like his MO unlike our previous disasters

...again, Mario didn't spend copious amounts of time and thoroughly vet and interview numerous candidates searching for the best, to then just hand the job to someone out of convenience next year or the year after. Ponce would have to have demonstrated that he advanced to the level Mario demands of his hires, especially since Mario clearly didn't think Ponce was even worth interviewing for the OC position.
