I think the difference with Smith and others is that O*U has been putting 5* players in the league for a decade and half and we had one record-setting year with a 1-year NFL QB. The counter for any team recruiting against us is easily "who are they without Ward? Even if you're just as good or better you'll barely win 10 games there."

Just realized you talking about JS lol bruh idk why I’m thinking of SMU. Anyway JS went to OSU not cause of the wr bs that the media and all other people say. That’s the bs narrative you hear and it’s the cameras are on talk or the easy answer. It’s Brian Hartline he’s been doing it forever off the rip. What it is? It’s the relationship/bag stuff he does that no one can match yet. He does something not seen (cause we ain’t in the room) that we do not know. Same thing like learning what Saban does if you were on his staff and adapting it when you get a HC job and make it better or try to.

Hartline may get a HC job one day and if he’s able to do it at multiple positions besides wr, then it was his efforts and what he was willing to do the entire time.

Also for me once I see a contradiction I’m done with the narrative. If someone tells me to this is what happens when this happens, and I believe it. Then it changes I don’t believe it anymore. So we get a qb that plays elite and everyone says all elite qbs will want to play here. And when that doesn’t happen it means that’s a lie. That’s how I look at things.

It’s like win and they will come. I seen so many examples throughout the years that it was cap. When I first followed recruiting I believed it till I seen that it was bs. And then learned elite recruiters just get elite recruits no matter where they were, as long as it was a big time program with big time backing.
