Guys I think you have missed a couple of potential QBs. You want a guy with great passing skills who could elevate his profile and NFL stock buy coming to Miami in their last year or last few years.

QB Behren Morton 6'2" 220 Texas Tech
QB Brendan Sorsby 6'2" 225 Cincinnati

I like CJ Bailey. The kid just makes plays. I don't care about his throwing motion.

I like John Mateer but he needs a bit more polish. He's a playmaker and a leader but he can be a bit erratic at times.

DJ Lagway would be a huge prize but he's likely staying at FU.

A really interesting name on your list is Fernando Mendoza. With what we could surround him with he may be a guy who elevates his game here. He doesn't have nearly the type of natural born freakish talent that Cam Ward has but he is a very fundamentally sound QB who plays within his ability and doesn't try to do too much. He could be great here or he could be average. Then again there's really no need for a kid like Mendoza when we already have Emory Williams. I'd much rather stick with Emory than to get Mendoza.

Pass on Mendoza. Rather go with guys we got. Would be such a lazy move to go for the Columbus bro.

Reminds me of a certain QB that doesn’t look for checkdowns and easy throws because he’s trying to make a big play, only Mateer is a much more dynamic runner.

UM will regret passing on him. My gut feeling is the starter next year will be Colombus alum Mendoza.

I'm not against Mendoza but they better have a good defense. With the current defense we might go 4-8 with Mendoza as the starting QB. Thats not a knock on Mendoza but he's not a game changing type QB like Cam Ward is. If we go down 28-10 I don't see Mendoza leading a comeback. With a good running game and a good defense, I can see Mendoza winning 10 games as our QB....lot of ifs
 
Mateer a lesser runner than Johnson, and weaker arm than Ward? Idk, feel like I’m watching different games.

Mario would have to convince a portal QB to sign without an OC, while trying to figure out who'd call plays in the playoff.

Its why I thought Mario should of done like saban did and snatched Holgorsen as a advisor before he went to nebraska.. Just in case

I completely agree. Idk if Mario ever reached out or if Holgorsen would've been interested.

But it would've been a really smart move.. Assuming that's the type of offense we're sticking with.
