Every **** time....it's the off season
The "not falling for it" guys are amongst the strangest phenomenon that we have around here.
Think we're talking about different probation eras. I grew up in the 80s under a completely different model of "savage."I don't want to hear about the probation era. I grew up in the late Coker/Shannon era. I remember the Louisville stomping at Papa John's like it was yesterday.
Not sure what there is to fall for this time. We brought D$ back down from the hype stratosphere and just talked about things that may or may not happen and why. It was a realistic conversation, I thought. The "not falling for it" guys are amongst the strangest phenomenon that we have around here.
No, many of us are older, seen this program at a high level, have successful careers and know what the “thing” is supposed to look like. And what I mean by “the thing” is knowing what leadership, a good culture, and a high performing organization looks like. Can’t read it in a book or an HBR article and deploy it...That only comes with experience and it goes waaaaaay beyond football. It’s the exact same way in business.
“Not falling for it” means we aren't reacting off emotions, the hype train or tweets. We all saw 6-7 and we are rational and smart enough to wait for empirical data - or as LuCane says “evidence” to inform our opinions. This is how it’s done in business. Leadership cuts across all disciplines, sports included.
What I was saying is if u grew up in the probation era u at least got to see the Hurricanes be dominant. 90's babies Hurricane fans have it witnessed nothing but poverty.Think we're talking about different probation eras. I grew up in the 80s under a completely different model of "savage."

I see. You got the 2000-2003 era, but I get it. Anyone who was born in late 90s and is a bigtime fan today deserves a tip of the cap. What I was saying is if u grew up in the probation era u at least got to see the Hurricanes be dominant. 90's babies Hurricane fans have it witnessed nothing but poverty.

I am. I shared the home schedule this morning and got replies like "man, you're too loyal." Eh? You pick a team as a kid and root for them. That's how it goes. If they end up sucking for 20 years, you breathe that in as part of your life. The teams I root for in pro sports suck to really no end. I can't even see light at the end of those tunnels.Because you're essentially conceding the reality that MIA fans are mostly all fair-weather fans..correct?
If you "fell for it" previously, you're a moron. It's football coach speak. None of it matters in the least bit. What exactly did you "fall for"? Manny's tweets? And this falling...what did it result in? Divorcing your family and getting a condo closer to UM so you can stake out the Hecht center with a countdown clock until the season started? What are the repercussions of "falling for it" that you refuse to get into bed with this time? Did you cry in the shower after losses? Beat your wife and dog?
It was a coach, talking. It's what they do. But he didn't win, and that's all that matters. "Not falling for it" like some of y'all were tricked into buying a timeshare or something LMAO. Simple minded weirdos.

I am a Dolphins and Tottenham fan. That means long stretches with ZERO reward for fandom.I am. I shared the home schedule this morning and got replies like "man, you're too loyal." Eh?
