He was only second team because of Clemson bias. And he is definitely a 2nd round pick

Nesta is the best DT we've had since Wilfork

That was my thought as well. He's a difference maker, not just a big guy that gets coached up and makes a few plays here and there. He's a guy that can dominate from ability alone. Throw in good coaching and look out.

Our ST were horrendous to put it nicely. How can possibly entertain promoting the 10th coach from within when we, based on results, don’t have anyone on staff capable of coaching up our ST? If there was, wouldn’t have someone provided some good input?

Nope. I like using DL in creative ways. Use Chatman as a SDE on first down and move him to DT in 3rd and long. Just like moving Djack to DT on pass downs.

He could fit there but he can be a force at either the 3 technique or end. Him and nesta lined up together will be a down right nasty combo

Am I the only one that likes Chatman at SDE?

For his freshman year, no you're not the only one. With out depth on the d-line, I don't see us being able to red-shirt him. Being that he's at 260-265, I wouldn't want to throw him in the middle. But at SDE his first year he could be plugged in right away.

I could see him putting on another 20-25 pounds while in school which would allow him to move to the 3T.

Chatman is a dt. Our d ends are 250 or under. You can cite guys who are seniors who are 260, but they are coming here 220. We aren’t playing hybrids or 280 lb d ends.

You know what they call guys who come here at 260+? Defensive tackles.

None of our DTs this year were playing below 280. No one's saying that Chatman won't be at a DT. We're saying that his first season he can be plugged in at SDE. Especially with his burst.

He will be all over the place. Who knows with this dude. I don't trust him. A lot of these guys we won't know until the fax letter comes in. I love our class just like for add on at this point.
