This kid is a steal for us. Gonna be a stud in a couple of years under Enos (hoping Enos stays).
Yep. And your point about Enos staying is a big one. More for us than Matocha. I admittedly didn't know **** about him before our OC search began, but I think him staying here and being legit is a key part of our success/resurgence story. I like Manny, and I find the extremists on both sides of the "Manny for HC" argument annoying as ****. But let's face it, he is (completely) a big risk-big reward choice for us.
But if you look at it purely defensively, we should be
at least as good coaching wise. All we did was add Baker, which can only help us imo (if for no other reason than it allows Banda and Patke more time to season). And if Enos can embrace the "head coach of the offense" role and realize this may just be the best position for him, AND he's even close to as good (competent) an offensive mind as he appears to be, that is our path out. Because we have enough talent to win 10+ games right out of the gates a couple of years if we have the coaching acumen & player development skills on staff to be even slightly above average in the ACC. I mean honestly, law of averages say we have to
eventually hire someone who at least holds their own, if not wins a little more than they lose on gameday (in the weekly coaching match-up). Right? I mean forget "QB whisperer" and "elite offensive mind" ****...if Enos is even slightly above average in the ACC, we have the talent and schedule to win 10 games. And then, ****, EVEN WE can recruit well enough to stack chips.
