I've thought the same thing. Diaz probably has a plan for the defensive backs and is aware of it. Look at the 2018 DB recruiting, with Jobe and Frierson, it's big corners who can cover will play safety at the next level. Or maybe they see Edwards as a safety.

Derrick Smith is the better S IMO.. Rangy ball hawk that comes down hill and strikes !

Then I guess it's good that Brian Edwards is likely coming in as a CB
