Yeah. The rule is that if you hire someone from a HS it has to be a position coach or they have to be a year removed from HS coaching if it’s not a position coach.

Surtains love Raymond and they have a bunch of family in the LSU area. Besides, surtain pulled the “feels like home” comment when talking about LSU. That ship sailed but we should still be on him imo
 
Well seeing that LSU might barely win 6 games and they already calling for coach O head, and once we beat FSU in doak should give Surtain a lot more to think about when it comes to us. Can play under Rumph, he’ll be a starter next year with his friend Campbell and his mom wants him close to home. We check off every **** box kid needs to open his eyes.

Coach O and Raymond may not be around for long if things continue on the current track for LSU.

PS2's immediate family and friends live in South Florida. While he might have said Baton Rouge "feels like home," South Florida is home for him, and his friends can go to every home game and be near him. The Surtains are an extremely close knit family. Knowing how close they are, I am not ready to write him off just yet.
 
Good stuff, wingz... I’m just going by an interview I saw of his. Let’s hope he keeps us close. Never thought we remotely had a chance with him but now....fwiw, I can’t imagine will can coach 0 after this zero and absorb yet another monstrous buyout amount. Crazier things have happened though

I think he and Campbell could both start day 1. Actually any DB in the '18 class will have a decent opportunity to start. Young has been good so far, but not spectacular. Bandy looks promising, but his best spot is probably NB. Also injuries happen. Both Campbell and Surtain are special talents.

That said, I don't think are chances are that great with Surtain. Get one of the two AH DBs (likely Campbell) and I'm super happy.
 
I don't get the hype over this kid as a cb. He's got really stiff hips, which isn't a surprise given his size. He's a great safety prospect though. Personally I'd rather have Asante Samuel over surtain any day.

I wouldn't go that far. I like Samuel, a lot, but Surtain sticks to hip pockets as well. What's interesting though, I've watched two Heritage games and it seem like teams are more willing to go to Surtain Jr side then Campbell's side. [MENTION=9986]RattlerCane[/MENTION], I don't have the privilege, being out here in Cali, to see every AH game, but is that a fair assessment based upon what you've seen?

I've only seen that one time: Heritage's last game. It didn't work out too well for the other team.

He's also close with his mom and dad, and odds are they ain't moving to Tallahassee or Louisiana. He's probably friends with a couple guys that we're signing too.
