We finally get a staff that has real experience, some Cane blood and strong reputations. We pulled a great recruiting class given the circumstances. Certainly our game day results have not been what anyone has hoped for, however, it is too difficult to blame the staff, when we have a high quality Division 3 offensive line. The play calls have been frustrating at times for sure and that is discouraging but even in Madden when your OL is overmatched you can't run the plays you want. Games are won and lost in the trenches!

We need to be patient and give the staff 2-3 years to build the team they need and want. If they recruit as well as they did in Georgia in the 305, then we will have superior results. We have better players here with more talent, speed and heart. Plus the ACC, with the inferior competition we will be in the playoffs before too long.

I am an optimist but i believe that completely. We all need to be patient and show some support. It can only help in recruiting by being positive.

You take away the UNC bobble TD catch the ACC said was invalid and swap it with a FG and we lost 3 games by a total of 7 points (either way it's still only 11 points). That's a Duke Johnson or Jermaine Grace type of player away from a win. We need a couple more guys. CMR hasn't called plays in 8+ years and it shows but every game he has improved. Give him some time to get better.

RECRUITS: Look at the bigger picture and don't pay any attention to these arm chair coaches on here that have 15 years of frustration built up and taking it out on a message board.

I am with this guy..

We have some of the worst fans around, we also have some of the best. Our fanbase is a paradox of rational thinking.

that part sir!

The real answers will come in '17.

Searles pick-ups
Donaldson - 4-5* elite kid
Brown - 3years out of HS
Johnson- 2years out of HS
plus another top name kids this year

They better not start the same 5 if they want to land a big time class in '18.

I'm always on-board with the Canes and think Richt can make it happen. He may need to turn-over some of the staff but I'm not sure if this is the year for that to happen.

I wouldnt say the ACC is inferior competition wise

Good post...You can acknowledge disappointment with this team's offense and still be excited and supportive about the future.

Top to bottom the SEC is superior to the ACC. As long as we have Wake, syracuse, duke, BC we will never been the top conference

We hired a lot of green guys on this staff. It's shown on special teams, the offensive side of the ball, and at safety.

If they recruited so well at Georgia then why did richt chronically underachieve and the Georgia fans saying he peaked five years ago? With all that talent they couldn't beat any good teams which comes down to coaching. This year FSU is the only team which definitively has out talented us and we still lost to their worst team since the Jeff Bowden years. We just lost to a 2-5 team with a coach who might be fired.

Oh yeah our offense, with ten returning starters, looks worse than a james coley offense and our supposed day 1 pick at qb has regressed.

Does richt need an entire roster of first round picks to beat the teams he's supposed to beat?

Oh and who is 'they'? Thomas brown and richt are the only Uga guys and Hartley wasn't even a position coach.

I would argue that UNC has more talent than us.

Why do people think we out-talent everyone? A lot of these "blue chippers" didn't develop properly under Golden. You think Richt can change that in 1 season?

The NFL draft this off season will show you just how much talent we have (not much in terms of upperclassmen). I bet we have 4 guys drafted.

Interesting how you ignored all the other points. And four guys drafted in one year wouldn't be bad when you have guys in other years who will be picked too. Lol at unc having more talent ;)

Keep trying.

Turned around pretty quick...amazing how negative the board was at that point to where it is now.

If you believe Unc has more talent I'd argue you probably eat your own boogers and play in your *****.

nah, the defense showed a drastic change. You can look at the numbers.

Name the positions where UNC has an advantage..
