Pate hits the Nail on the Head

timing of Innis comment after losing to Bain and watching him and Joseph flash the U on stage. #Salty
They should have told him by the time our class is out of college you will regret the move you made. Don’t know if it will be true or not but these are the type of kids to help make it happen.

He’s full of ****….this whole “developing players” narrative is a correlation to consistently recruiting a hugely disproportionate amount of the top players. OSU/GA/ALA aren’t turning three stars into first rounders, they just happen to land 50 out of the top 100 kids every year, and those guys end up going to the NFL.

He doesn’t know **** or he’s lying. Plenty of non-QBs getting 7 figure deals from big programs, including from OSU, Texas, USC, and UGA. Plenty.
Pate doesn’t know his *** from a hole in the ground when it comes to NIL. On top of that Sec schools are doing both bags and NIL deals. Sometimes taking care of kids and their families for months. Even funnier people here are buying the bs he’s been sold by “ certain schools“. He’s a shill just like the MSM.

This is the classic false choice fallacy designed to make viewers believe that the options are limited or black and white when, in fact, the reality is different. The variables as to why a kid chooses to go to a particular school, why he chooses to take an NIL deal, vary, are fluid, and can change much like coaches at a particular program who also come and go. It's not purely "take the money with questionable development" vs "take less money and receive great coaching". Those choices are designed to push a narrative.
I’m glad somebody has sense to see what this was. Straight up shilling / propaganda for the big boys. It’s all good until the deer has the gun then the deer gets a the bad guy. Even sadder there’s “ Miami fans “ agreeing with said bs. It’s Shameful.

He wears those where you can’t see all the dried up Sec / Osu *****.

He said big programs aren’t doing it. N/A to us.
The key point for those of us with orange and green shades on is when he says "Long and established track record of developing your position". Mario may have that with OL according to some, but as a school, what position, other than TE and maybe DE/RB do we have a consistent record with the last 12 or so years?

You just named a few positions and there are really only a handful of schools that can claim more than a few which is Cribbys point that it’s schilling for the big guys. It all becomes a chicken or the egg. Are the best developers really the best or do they just get the best players at that position and they were going to be good anyway?

You're right TO. That's such of BS argument when you're getting the top players 4/5* at said positions. Like Cribby say's it's Schilling!!

I generally like Pate and his takes, but yeah, this was absolutely a "pandering to his base" moment. Someone pointed out in another thread that the rabbit has the gun now. This is exactly what's going on and the powers that be are in full assault mode.

The whole "development" piece is interesting because it's HIGHLY subjective and is often used to perpetuate a one-sided narrative. Was the high 4 or 5 star "developed" when they're surrounded by other 4 and 5 stars or are they just reaping the benefits of playing on an all-star team? Does "development" just mean being drafted in an early round or does it mean making it to a lucrative 2nd contract?

This "development" argument goes both ways as well. Take OSU for example: yes, they have a recent history of producing NFL quality receivers. That's inarguable. But please name me an OSU QB that has succeeded in the NFL...EVER! Use whatever made up metric you want. So by this "logic" why should any QB worth anything go to that program?

Sorry for the long post. I normally hate them myself, but I get fired up when people are not making an honest argument.
