I understand and love the class we have as of now. Love that they will be at Paradise, but still think for this event, we could have some bigger recruits to sway
Seems like there are rumblings that certain groups are already pretty full and commits might be a bit nervous about how full they are. So I guess its a balance of keeping options open on certain high ranked players but not scare away the guys you already have. Don't want to get caught drooling over the 10 at the table next to you that you don't have a shot with while you are on your date with the 8 you are lucky to have there.
Exactly... and we have a few 10s already committed. When you have 19 commits for 2018, it's hard to have many uncommitted 2018 present.
I'm not entirely sure I get this mindset. Which recruits do you guys think would be scared off? Also, do we really want guys who are THAT scared of competition? I agree in the sense we shouldn't try to bring in 5 WRs, but other than that, anyone who would be scared off by bigger names at a premier recruiting event is a pansy.
Maybe I'm harsh, but am I wrong? At least I hope we don't have guys afraid of competition. Very rarely do kids like that pan out if we're being honest.
I like the fact that we have most of the class locked in and can focus on the building the next class, not sure why people would complain about the list of attendees from 2018 when we already got most of the guys we targeted. We are done at QB, RB, TE, only have one spot for WR (Thornton) and maybe 2 at OL (Barnes). On defense we just need 1-2 LB (Joyner, Louis), 2-3 DL (Oyadele, Briggs) and maybe 1-2 more DB (Bethel, Campbell). How many prospects do you want there? Especially when we are not planning to offer them. Let the commits come and build relationships with each other, current players, former players, and coaches. Oh yeah, they can also help recruit the guys who are not yet committed.
Correct keep our current commits and add some of the top targets is all we should be asking for
