2 weeks in a row we wore down the defenses toward the end of the game.

Unfortunately I don't see us being able to do the same vs FSU. We need to hit some big plays in the passing game.

That's Coley realizing what Morris currently is and making the best of what he has to work with. I think it is a sound judgment.

Yet those of us calling for Mo Hagens in the first half were getting heckled. lol

Our M.O. under coach Coley is to try to be the spread offense juggernaut that he wants us to be until we're in trouble then we act like a pro styled power running team, which is what our roster strength is. Its worked late so far this season.

Clutch drive by Morris - Zonecane

No other QB would of won that game- Zonecane

Don't see the problem -Dmoney

That's Coley realizing that we were running at will. If our running game was getting stuffed, we would have thrown.

I like seeing this Lu to be honest. I don't mind going for the bomb pass on 2nd and 5 but we go for it and if we don't convert we get 2nd and 10, 3rd and 10 situations.

We've been running the ball well all season. That seams to be the strength.

I'm not saying that I don't like it. Quite the opposite. It's what we have to do right now to grind out games. When it's that extreme, it obviously stands out and signals a number of different things - for this game, UNC and possibly going forward (I hope not).

Didnt we get outcoached on both sides of the ball?!? Our OL was twice their size, we should have been running all game.

bottom line? we've gone to the rush game late these games because there is little confidence that morris' passing game will lead us to victory.

plus, we've wanted to kill the clock, but that is a distant second reason.

I have zero confidence in Morris every throw I'm ready to see overthrown/under thrown/skip passed

Granted, Morris is clearly not playing well right now/just isn't who we want him to be, especially given the off-season/pre-season hype.

But I agree, I think the 4 quarters of UNC and Wake have less to do with not trusting Morris and more to do with Al and Coley:
- wanting to be patient and use clock
- limiting the potential for turnovers, regardless of whose playing QB
- trusting that UTough has put our team in a position to be dominant in the trenches at the end of games

Theres no question Morris is jittery back in the pocket and makes poor throws when under pressure. So how do you neutralize an undersized 250 lbs. DT thats racking up TFLs all season? - you send a 300+ lbs. Wheeler or Feliciano straight up his *** and run the ball. In years past we all *****ed to no end that Fisch would never just line up and pound the ball. Who cares if we do it when we're up or if we do it in order to win the game. The point is we CAN do it and ARE winning games. If they can't stop it, then keep on running.

/But yes, Morris could look WAY better

What this tells you is that Coley has TOTALLY lost confidence in Morris. What's even more disheartening, is if that is the case, why not go to Williams? Is Williams THAT bad?

I mean I hold out the SLIM hope, that maybe Coley was trying to play things close to the vest for most of the game, trying to keep things very basic and hoping we could just out talent WF and protecting Morris, but it almost bit us in the @ss. At least I hope that is what happened. But my gut tells me that Coley just has no confidence in Morris right now, and is afraid to let him start airing it out. Which does not bode well at all for next week.

I ******* love it.

I will take this offense over last years all day long, if for nothing else, it helps our defense so much.

Can't wait that long to figure it out. So the 2 drives we don't throw the ball we score TDs. Go figure.
And that's with Wake selling out on the run.
