Our defense went from 45th to 113th

Aside from roster turnover, which happens in college frequently and shouldn't be an excuse, many of Dorito's calls and overall philosophies are horrendous. We should be much better on defense and this is just painful to watch.

Another thing that gets glossed over, if the talent on defense is awful, Golden is failing at his job.

I bet you thought Butch was failing in his job in 1997 and 1998 when our defenses were G-d awful with all these untalented freshman and sophomores like Morgan and Myers and Lewis and Reed getting burned and run over all over the field.

Nice so now Albert Golden is the next Butch Davis. **** of a leap to take.

113th in defense. My Lawd!

I bet if we had a better DC our defense would be better.

Who is going to disagree with me on this?

Yeah, because I said that, way to twist things. What I said was people said the same thing about Butch and those players and look what happened. I never said Golden would be Butch or these players would turn out to like those guys. I said you can't always see the final product in year 1 or 2, and look at 1997 and 1998 for your example.

Were D'Onofrio's philosophies this "horrendous" last year?

And how is Golden failing at his job? He's only had one full recruiting cycle. He scraped the 2011 class together in a month.

Not true at all. Golden inherited this div 1aa talent. The guys that have largely shown they should be very good, if not great, in a year or two, are golden's recruits. And countless of those guys should not be sniffing the field yet; they should be shirting and hitting the weightroom.
