our 2012 class

Is this thread is a troll, good work! FYI, it is a little early to grade the 2012 class.

Thompson is a baseball player and still at school.

Briscoe, Ivery, Lockhart, Davis and Terry are all gone.

Witt is on the PUP list. Jean-Louis never got his grades in order.

Every thread I start is a troll attempt.

Going through a roster overhaul, it's expected to see a group of guys that can't hack it.

This coming season is a make or break for a few guys because we have some serious talent rolling in.

our 2013 class

Stacey Coley doesn't have 1,000 yards receiving yet he is bust cut him
AQM doesn't have the school record in sacks yet cut him.
Kevin Olsen hasn't won 3 championships yet...he's no baby jesus cut him.

.....end sarcasm.
Golden sacrificed alot redshirting kids when he could have rolled the dice and maybe struck gold (no pun intended) on a few of these guys playing early. But he stayed the course and kept building for the future. Take Jawan Blue for example had he gone to VaTech. he would have still redshirted last year. been given a chance to make the special team unit and at best compete for the backup spot against the 4 upper classmen and 3 soph LBs they have. The Hokies also have 8 other Frosh or RS.Frosh LBs insuring that only the best player(s) who pick up the scheme will play baring injury of course. Maybe Blue is a beast, maybe he is a jag, but how can you know without the proper competition?

Interesting note.

Bammer had zero fifth year seniors on the roster last season.

Good fact but probably not applicable to this discussion. We are on one side of the spectrum where we have to play guys early because of depth so they can't redshirt. I would suspect that 'bama is on the other side of things: up or out. Their players either leave for the draft or are moved along to make room for the next wave of 5*s.

Bama also has an inordinate amount of players on medical hardship. That can be both legitimate because of the physicality of their practices or a loophole they've exploited to move less than stellar older players on with their lives and not ruin recruiting pipelines.

2012 class suffered some from the need for bodies because of several years bad numbers management. Still it looks to be the corner stone of our first ACC title and maybe first NC game. Lot of skill talent there that should mesh with Randy's one positive gift -- a really good offensive 2010 class(D for that class is the opposite). Granted 2012 did not deliver the need inside Dline talent we wanted, but the rest is actually very good. Al cuts the waste quick-- that is good-- so there are some losses. The NFL misses on most draft picks, so even the Don can be allowed a few. Not sure we have our QB from 2012 but who knows. 2013 took care of that with Olsen and that alone made made 2013 a excellent class with all the drama. 2014 is making it clear that the highwater mark against us was 2013 and now the tide has turned. But 2012 will be the year that started the Return of THE [[_]].

The guys you haven't heard from was involved in this thing called a "Redshirt"...it ws a big controversy, but I think they'll be cleared to play this year...

Carter redshirted also and still is getting positive reviews, so that point is irrelevant.

I've heard several positive things about Sonny Odogwu too, but i'm not crowning him with any title. That's my point; too soon to judge. Each player develops differenty, or is called upon sooner or later based on need. It happens. Seems like you're writing them off before they even got started.

Pick on a guy like David Perry or the like. Why pinpoint a RS Fr?

This post is flawed in so many ways.

Then...you don't seem to be an informed fan at all, to even mention AJL, Josh Witt, Vernon Davis...as if they were ever an extended part of the the cycle. You're just pulling names out of a hat to fit what you want to porst.

This is less that even Bleacher Report material dude.

didn't realize that so many guys are gone already:

Dequan Ivery
Robert Lockhart
Jacoby Briscoe
Gabe Terry
Josh Witt
Vernon Davis
Angel Jean Louis
David Thompson

Then we have guys that I haven't heard a peep from (wouldn't be surprised if they take off either):

Preston Dewey
Jawand Blue
D'Mauri Jones
Jake O'Donnell
Larry Hope
Nate Dortch
Taylor Gadbois

That leaves us with:

Tracy Howard - has experience now needs to step up
Antonio Crawford - poised for a breakout year
Deon Bush - ^
Tyriq McCord - ^
Ladarius Gunter - ^
Raphael Kirby - ^
Rayshawn Jenkins - ^
Herb Waters - ^

Earl Moore - Would be a godsend if he turns out to be a player
Jelani Hamilton - ^
Dwayne Hoillett - ^
Danny Isidora - plug and play guy. Should get some reps this year
Ereck Flowers - might be our best OL. possible 1st rounder
Jontavious Carter - supposedly turning some heads. cautiously optimistic
Danny Dilliard - I'm iffy on him. We definitely could use him this year (fb?)
Malcolm lewis - If fully recovered, will definitely help out in the passing game
Duke Johnson - The King of Miami!

Most of these guys need to contribute NOW... Our immediate future is riding on it (if we want to be title contenders in 2014 and 2015). Can't afford any more busts.

Don't post this kind of information. Porsters on here will get angry and say nasty things to you. And see how many likes they can get with their beautiful comments.
In all seriousness I think some of the guys you've mentioned are just RS FR so it's impossible to write them off. Jones, Dortch, and Blue especially.
