didn't realize that so many guys are gone already:

Dequan Ivery
Robert Lockhart
Jacoby Briscoe
Gabe Terry
Josh Witt
Vernon Davis
Angel Jean Louis
David Thompson

Then we have guys that I haven't heard a peep from (wouldn't be surprised if they take off either):

Preston Dewey
Jawand Blue
D'Mauri Jones
Jake O'Donnell
Larry Hope
Nate Dortch
Taylor Gadbois

That leaves us with:

Tracy Howard - has experience now needs to step up
Antonio Crawford - poised for a breakout year
Deon Bush - ^
Tyriq McCord - ^
Ladarius Gunter - ^
Raphael Kirby - ^
Rayshawn Jenkins - ^
Herb Waters - ^

Earl Moore - Would be a godsend if he turns out to be a player
Jelani Hamilton - ^
Dwayne Hoillett - ^
Danny Isidora - plug and play guy. Should get some reps this year
Ereck Flowers - might be our best OL. possible 1st rounder
Jontavious Carter - supposedly turning some heads. cautiously optimistic
Danny Dilliard - I'm iffy on him. We definitely could use him this year (fb?)
Malcolm lewis - If fully recovered, will definitely help out in the passing game
Duke Johnson - The King of Miami!

Most of these guys need to contribute NOW... Our immediate future is riding on it (if we want to be title contenders in 2014 and 2015). Can't afford any more busts.

The guys you haven't heard from was involved in this thing called a "Redshirt"...it ws a big controversy, but I think they'll be cleared to play this year...

This kids were FRESHMEN last year. A lot of them, like Moore, McCord, Howard... Ext played prematurely. Guys like Blue, Dortch, and Gadbois redshirted. Dortch and Gadbois cracked the two deep this year. Expect Blue to crack the two deep next year after he adjusts to his weight (now weighing 240) . I wish we don't have to hear a peep for another year from a lot these guys but I understand your point, we don't have much depth, and we need to win. But don't expect everyone to he instant impact out of High School.

If we land a class like that every year we'll be in ACC championship games frequently - other than the absolute failure at DT which is well chronicled already.

Carter redshirted also and still is getting positive reviews, so that point is irrelevant.

coach golden has said numerous times gadbois has surprised him. witt had injury issues, ivery was lazy, and vernon davis chickened out. he didnt believe in his own talent.

Hoilett, Hamilton, Moore, McCord, and Kirby are the guys I'm really counting on. We need them all to be contributors.

I distinctly remember Shannon saying he was looking to hit on 6-7 special players in each class... not sure if thats good or bad, i guess it depends on what you mean by special

Kind of misleading IMO.

We signed 19

Kinard and Grooms never enrolled

Darrius Back **** Smith and Dalton Botts already graduated

Taylor Gadbois enrolled a year later.

19 became 16 (Gadbois, Grooms and Kinard) and then 2 graduated (Smith and Botts) so you have 14. 10 out of 14 left, Johnson, Paul, Finnie and Williams are gone.

That is a pretty solid class right there. By their JR year we should be rolling. As said above if every class could be like that one we would be in the acc title game every year.

And Golden had about 2 months to put that class together. That is 100% on Randy.

Wasn't meant to be misleading. I swear it.

Is this thread is a troll, good work! FYI, it is a little early to grade the 2012 class.

Thompson is a baseball player and still at school.

Briscoe, Ivery, Lockhart, Davis and Terry are all gone.

Witt is on the PUP list. Jean-Louis never got his grades in order.

I said it was kind of misleading, no need to swear.

On the topic, would you rather have a kid

a.) sit on the pine during his tenure and not offer anything productive (not even depth or quality scout team)

or

b.) cut him early and move on
