OT: USC West

Ive always thought USC is very similar to Miami, sister schools in a way.
They have a much larger enrollment and alumni base. And it's California, so they're richer than us. And bigger assclowns. That's the biggest difference of the two.

Miami and USC are very Similar, USC is just a bigger west coast version of Miami if you will, both private schools, USC spends more on athletics though
After thinking about it, we are like a mix of USC & Stanford... basically if Stanford had USC's football alumni & prestige but not as good academics also... lol.

That's the thing, everyone else in the country knows Carolina is in Chapel Hill

Yes, that's my experience. And when I'm in South Carolina I only hear them referred to as USC. But I'm not in that region often enough to know for certain what locals use.

I have two visors, one that says USC and another merely SC. I have worn them for years during trips in the South, East and Midwest and also locally in Miami. It's almost always the same thing, a glance and then some hesitancy. The percentage of responses has always been lower than I would expect. More people who do react correctly realize it is USC Trojans. It's probably a 70/30 split.

But when I wear the SC visor the number of responses soars and likewise the recognition. Simple reason. People who are familiar with that school and have any type of rooting interest, for or against, know it as SC. I can only remember one person who saw that SC visor and thought it meant South Carolina. It was so startling I remember exactly when and where it was...at a lounge at Keeneland Race Track in fall 2015. Some drunk Kentucky fan came up to me and said sarcastically, "Are you okay, buddy?" Then he started mocking some recent South Carolina football defeat. It was Spurrier's final season and they were struggling.

I told him to look again.
