OT - UNC has hired Belichick

UM hired one Football knowledgeable guy in Zo and didn’t utilize him to the point where he just walked. Dark days ahead for UM as college football rapidly evolve and we stay the same.
Lol what?

Outside of winning a conference title LITERALLY all Mario and company have done is evolve, adapt, fix holes and have the win trajectory going upward.

This year Mario must get us into the playoffs but this take is absurd bordering on glue slurpee levels.

You've been interacting with me long enough to know that I'm a coaches guy. I don't do nor buy that " Stack the cupboards with every great player in the nation" and call it football like you do, my friend.

The game of football is a chess match between two coaches. Bill Belicheck is a chess master at this football ****. Bill Belicheck wanted a clause in his contract that would make his son the HC in waiting once he, or the school, decided to part ways.

He doesn't give a **** about UNC or college football. He's just trying to be a good dad.

If he isn't successful then no one will care or remember but by all means wallow and bathe yourself in the waters of his failure

And yet once Belicheck lost his top QB and top TE he started losing more and more

TrumpyCane thinks it just had to be a coincidence

Belichick seemed to be at his best when he had Lawrence Taylor and a bunch of other good players on his defense and when he had Tom Brady making white lacrosse players look like NFL WRs. Who is UNC's Lawrence Taylor (I know LT went to UNC), or Tom Brady? Belichick is a good coach, but he's not a miracle worker. He's also an azzwipe.
He’s not there to win games. Could he? Maybe. But whether or not he wins or puts together a legit roster, doesn’t matter.

All hiring Bill did was legitimize that football program. He’s building a foundation and a system that will be continued after he’s gone. He’s already brought in tens of millions to the program and got them to spend $1.5 million on a GM. He’s paint over rust in an attempt to make them more attractive for the SEC or B10.

Mack didn’t legitimize anything. He didn’t get the same buy in Bill did. Bill is their Mario. He only took the job bc he was promised the financial and systematic support.

Wait till Bill sees all those 18-20 year olds , instant love ❤️

I give it one season until the Co-ed scandal. Dude is so gross. And there is no way in **** he has the energy or motivation left to pull together a winning team. Larranaga would lap him twice in a 400 meter race.

I'm convinced this is what's going on.

They admitted they’ve been working behind the scenes to leave the ACC. The “Carolina Blue Matter” is what they’re calling it.
Do you believe they have a preferred destination, or is it (as I believe) best offer at the right time?

That’s a loaded question with too many variables to answer. If the BOG and state legislature (as they already have) try to force the conference to take both UNC and NC State, they’ll go to whoever takes both. Most likely scenario is when the B12 takes State, UNC is free to go to whoever offers them more. I don’t believe they have a consensus on which they prefer right now. There’s also a 1% chance Fox wants the Duke/UNC basketball games, so UNC goes with Duke to B10. But the UNC side does not value the rivalry as something they need to keep in conference enough to base their decision on that. They’d end up playing each other OOC anyway, if they went separate ways.
