OT: Tom Herman just said on ESPN

If your training is under JJ where the practices are more difficult than the games, it's fine. If your training is under Al, where "doing something" violates the 1st commandment of his defense, then falling back on your training is a horrible idea.

This dude makes out with his players before every game. So busting out ghey quotes should come as no surprise.

Yes, but NAVY Seals are an elite fighting unit. Al Golden's teams were a pussified ladies bingo club.
I'm sure Herman learned a lot during his extensive SEAL training.

No different than Folden constantly bringing up Hurricane greatness that he could never possibly comprehend

Are coaches no longer allowed to quote military jargon unless they served?

The quote is fine. Golden's teams flopping around made it comical.
I was joking

Anyone that thinks that the use, or lack thereof, of some coach-speak or management-speak phrase, either makes you or doesn't make you a good coach, is just plain stupid.

The truth is, all coaches, good and bad, are prone to coach-speak. It has zero bearing on their effectiveness and results.
