Facts!You crazy meng!
IT ALL SOUNDS THE FVCKIN SAME.
Social media has bridged the gap between East Coast, West Coast and down South...so there's no longer a distinctive sound that represents an area.
Back in the day every area had it's own distinct sound. You can tell where an artist was from by their sound, their content and the slang that they used.
Cali - gang bangin, pimpin, weed
Texas - grills and swangers
Florida - donks, dope, party music
NY - conscious rap
ATL - trap music
New Orleans - bounce music
Midwest - fast rapping
You had different areas, rapping about different ****, and it fulfilled different moods....all with different types of flow.
Roddy Rich, Panda, whoever the fvck else you wanna name...all sound like they're from the South. And everybody else is emo.
All these MF'ers nowadays sound the same. Can't tell where none of them are from. They all use the same type of beats, same slang, same regurgitated content.
Not to be Picky....But Pac is from NYC....F that Cali BS.....You just named 5 fvckin' rappers, dude. And a couple of them flat-out SUCK.
All these rappers I'm about to name were out AROUND THE SAME TIME...representing different areas and styles.
Cali - Snoop, Tupac, Dr Dre, Dogg Pound, Too Short, E40, Xzibit, DJ Quick, etc...
Texas - UGK, Paul Wall, Lil Flip, Chamillonaire, etc...then you had Rich Boy and David Banner right next door representing Alabama and Mississippi.
Louisiana - Master P and everybody in his click (like 89 rappers), Cash Money (6 different rappers), Boosie, Webbie, Mystikal...then Wayne, Juvi, BG and Turk went solo, giving us more material.
Florida - Trick Daddy, JT Money, Luke & 2 Live, 69 Boyz, Bloodraw, Billy Blue, Brisco, Ball Greezy, Ice Berg (Dunk Ryders), Quad City DJ's, 95 South, etc.
Georgia - Field Mob, Outkast, T.I., Goodie Mob, Young Jeezy, Lil Jon & the Eastside Boys, Lil Scrappy, Crime Mob, Gucci Mane, etc...too many to name.
Midwest - Eminem, Common, Nelly and his click, Bone Thugs, Do Or Die, Kanye, etc...
New York - 50 Cent, Nas, Wu-Tang, Jay-Z, Mobb Deep, Lost Boyz, JadaKiss (LOX)...just way too many to name in NY.
Bro we can go on for days. These guys were all making records around the same time. And they ALL HAD DIFFERENT SOUNDS.
Not to be Picky....But Pac is from NYC....F that Cali BS.....
Kendrick, Jcole, Anderson Paak... only music I get excited about anymore.
Still from the Capital of Rap...Yeah yeah yeah, we all know where's he's originally from. But he was self-proclaimed "WESTSIIIIIDE" and he was making West Coast music.

While youre correct. His sound was all westcoast
Yep...NYC...then B-More...and the Yay Area.
I think another South Central guy that moved up to the bay was cursing and being vulgar way before them, Ole Short DogWait, wait, wait, wait.......
Do NYC get credit for creating hip hop? Absolutely, but to say they are the capital of rap is far fetched. And B-More? Yay Area?????? Look, I'm in the Yay, they have their own style w/ everything, but you are tripping disrespecting Compton like this. They are the creators of gangsta rap.
While East Coast was rapping:
"I said a hip hop,
The hippie to the hippie
The hip hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it
To the bang bang boogie, say up jump the boogie,
To the rhythm of the boogie, the beat.
A Skiddleebebop, we rock, scooby doo,
And guess what, America, we love you"
And
"I ain't no joke, I used to let the mic smoke
Now I slam it when I'm done and make sure it's broke
When I'm gone no one gets on cause I won't let
Nobody press up and mess up the scene I set
I like to stand in a crowd and watch the people wonder ****
But think about it then you'll understand"
Compton was rapping about:
"Fck the police comin' straight from the underground
A young ninja got it bad 'cause I'm brown
And not the other color so police think
They have the authority to kill a minority
Fck that chit, 'cause I ain't the one
For a punk motherfcker with a badge and a gun"
And
"Straight outta Compton, crazy motherfcker named Ice Cube
From the gang called Ninja's With Attitudes
When I'm called off, I got a sawed off
Squeeze the trigger, and bodies are hauled off
You too, boy, if ya fck with me
The police are gonna hafta come and get me"
They made it cool to curse, be vulgar, and talk about murder on wax. Changed the whole rap game.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.......

BRUHHH!!! BDP came out with criminal minded in 86 and they were actually about that life. Philly was doing it even earlier, but not as popular with Schoolly D, Cool C, and the tough crew. All of them were about that life too. I fvck with NWA but they basically made being a studio gangster cool.Short officially came out in 89, NWA came out in 87.
Cube was definitely the talent of the group.
Wrote all their lyrics except for MC Ren.
