OT: FSU loses TE Coach Billy Napier to Bama

I must admit this is kind of nuts. How the heck do you pull two coaches in a month that have never coached a practice at their current school? I dont know about a salary cap but the schools need to start throwing buy out clauses in the contracts of assistants is what needs to happen. Just like any thing else in this world, your only as good as the people around you and if you are constantly losing good people then it is going to hurt you sooner than later. There is obviously something going on that makes guys leave for 'Bama when they have a job they just started and it is more than likely money and not the on the books kind of money. I think that just like recruits these guys are paying side money to get coaches to go there, or properties, or cars. Not that the coaches dont have the right to greener pastures but the schools need to start protecting themselves.

lol the buyout clauses should be in the range of like 20 M if thats even possible. somehow, someway schools need to make near impossible for anyone to leave after a month or two if it isnt an NFL job.

Alternative viewpoint....yes the SEC cheats, a lot, and that is totally unfair, BUT.....they also INVEST in their football. Lets face it, CFB is a business, and that is how Alabama and others treat it. We were not serious about football as a business until the last few years. I am glad that our view has changed.

Can't trust these coaches anymore

Kinda ridiculous

Agree, they need to show more professionalism and class than this. It seems when Bama comes knocking it's forget the commitment I just made it's time to join the evil empire.

It has nothing to do with not being serious. The problem is that the NCAA, while pretending they care about fairness and competitiveness when it comes to the students, don't give a crap when it comes to what is a far bigger issue. A booster can't buy dinner for a student without the student and school suffering. But a booster club can collect nearly unlimited money to supplement coaching salaries for a school. That is ridiculous.
