OT: EA Sports College Football game

You guys don't like the team ratings? Just wait. They also used ESPN's recruiting rankings for freshman ratings. ESPN is not only the least accurate recruiting service, it also has a financial interest in success of one specific conference. So don't be surprised when UF's true freshman are rated higher than ours.

That’s electronic arts they always say that. I can see what my eye balls see and that’s the same game with college play books and gimmicks. I will still cop it for sure but I won’t have to buy it yearly cause it will probably be the same game yearly (gameplay wise)

They'll have had to tweak the coding so pitching the ball is more viable, but the read option has been in Madden for a while - so yeah I wasn't expecting revolutionised gameplay.

According to people that have played the game it does not feel like Madden. All of them have said that and they are not EA employees.

Madden has things they need to clean up, but it’s not a bad game in its current state. Clean up some things like nano blitzes, money/cheese plays, ai pursuit, pass coverage awareness for ai controlled defenders and it’s an excellent game.

I still have to get cfb in my hands to see the feeling but just from the gameplay blog and video, there is gameplay things that will separate it from Madden. Things that should have beeeen introduced to Madden like hot routing the depth of stems, switching to a specific defender after the snap, throwing power affects not only how far you can throw the ball but also how hard you can throw it, etc….

Traditionally it's been a different game and vastly different gameplay. Whatever this they are releasing will probably be the closest it will be to Madden it's going to be.

They should have online fan forums you can visit and read the overreactions to that week's game or the loss of a recruit; complete with dumpster fire memes and booty gifs.

The people that are saying "It shares similarities to Madden, so the game is going to be terrible" need to touch grass. There, I said it. Of course it will share some similarities to Madden, it's a football game. Most games have some similarities, especially in the same genre. You really think they are going to build this(or any other football) game completely from scratch, without using some stuff they already had, that is perfectly acceptable? A jump cut is a jump cut, no matter where the motion was captured.

Yes, there are some college exclusive movements that you have to record specifically for the game(The reverse pivot on the option is one that immediately comes to mind). That said, the majority of people purchasing this game aren't people that are going to care that some motion captures were brought over from Madden, they will care about the feel of the game. Does it feel like a real life collegiate game? From what I've seen so far, it looks like the programmers spent their time wisely, it looks and sounds like a legit game. I get it, I'm an old guy, that just wants a decent video game, I won't be picking through motions, looking for things to whine about. If I can play my crew online, the game has a solid dynasty mode and it's not a complete mess, I'm good.
