OT commit Kavion Broussard Midseason HL

Maybe us landing Bell caused him to look around

Would suck to lose him
I doubt it. Bell is here for 2 years max and Broussard wasn't going to play significant minutes until year 3 anyway. Still it blows to lose this kid.

- Broussard said Missouri and Ole Miss “are both sitting in a good spot” for him and he’ll continue to consider the two programs, but he added Miami is still his leader.

-Broussard will take his official visit to Miami this coming weekend and does not currently have any other visits scheduled, although he said he isn’t sure what his visit plan will look like the remaining week-and-a-half before signing day. Miami is the only program he’s hosted for an in-home visit.
-Broussard’s mother and father were both present for the in-home visit and felt their conversations with Cristobal and Mirabal went well. Both of his parents will accompany him on his official visit to Miami this coming weekend, which Broussard said he wants to use to explore the campus, city and community.
-Broussard said he hasn’t considered if he’ll shut down his recruitment before signing day but still plans to sign Dec. 20. He will be a summer enrollee.

“I never want to be on a losing team, but I want to go somewhere with a good foundation,” “Then I want to go there and make them better.”

Translation: Broussard isn't "committed" to Miami

He’s the only OL recruit I’d be upset if he decides to flip.

I'm not shedding a tear if he dips, and my guess is the staff wouldn't either. Though obviously they like him. The everyone's in a good position stance sounds like 'make me an $ffer' and/or torn about staying closer to home and being in the SEC.
Our spots, at this point, are extremely tight. I'd exchange this commit for a portal center, for example. Or any other higher profile recruit that wants in. Now folks are gonna say numbers don't matter, but Mario was talking roster numbers this week, so there's that. Spots are limited and the roster has holes. And the majority of departures are pretty good players. Gotta keep a steady hand when your cups full someone once told me.

Its like recruiting a projected 72 Overall in NCAA14 thats got a cool name, good size (pause), strong and athletic but needs work in the blocking attributes. You really want him because you scouted him early and invested a lot of recruiting points, but there are a ton of 72 Overall OL with athleticism out there still left on the board...just gotta find'em or you got to land your whales.

This feels like 1 of 2 things, or both.
1. Culture fit at UM. If he is country, going to UM may have sounded like the coolest thing in the world, until it comes time to actually leave the small town and go to Miami.
2. Perceived lack of love and feeling like the signing of Bell diminishes his value to UM. I GUARANTEE Ole Miss is telling him about all the tackles UM has on its roster and that UM will go JC or portal if they think they can recruit over him.

I'll bet Saint Kiffin won't accept his commitment because "If you're an offensive tackle, then you go to Miami." He'd be doing him a disservice by letting him go to Ole Miss.

Hope someone shows him this IF he’s still wanted…

Can't get mad at kids having second thoughts and wanting to stay closer to home. Wish more Miami kids would lol
