OT: Cam Akers

will we just say that McFarland is better than akers just like people said yearby was better than cook?

I think Anthony McFarland jr has more tools than Cam Akers. Kid is explosive and can run inside, outside, & can catch passes in the slot.

What? They lost three games, easily could've been four and were led by a 1st rd RB that's leaving. Okay, there QB is the leader...

Works both ways. They lost 3 games but could be 11-1 with 2 and 3 point loses to Clemson plus NC...

The real question is who is going to be our leader on offense that can go to Tallahassee behind that sh.itty Oline and win?

They also could have lost 5 games because they had a 1pt game with us and were a late TD away from losing to NCst. They lost by 43 to Louisville that doesn't have a single recruit they wanted on it.

Jimbo is overrated as a coach. He's living off Winston, because he hasn't done anything without him. He's got an elite bagman in Tim Brewster and really strong recruiters like Hagins and Dawsey. They poured a lot of money into the program...they have 8 quality control analysts, a brand new IPF and practice facilities. He's got pretty close to all the advantages that LSU, Alabama, OSU, and Mich, have these days. People act like resources don't matter, they clearly do because the programs that spend the most also do the best in recruiting. There seems to be a pretty clear correlation.

There seems to be a pretty clear pattern in how a program becomes elite. Look at Michigan with Harbaugh, Alabama with Saban, OSU with Meyer, you hire a new coach, pour in a ton of money, ride the new coach recruiting bump, start winning, and keep riding the wave onward. I hope we haven't missed our wave this year.

Jimbo is football's version of John Calipari. An absolute elite recruiter, but okay head coach. He's a competent play caller (gets the ball to his best players), but he's not going to beat you with inferior talent.

Who gives a ****. This is college football. Recruiting is 80% of the game. We judge elite coaches primarily on how they get top talent.

Would you rather have Jimbo or someone like Dantonio - sorry recruiter and good developer? To me it isn't even a question.

Saban was 6-5, 6-6, 7-5, 6-6, and 9-2 at MSU....funny how he become so much better at recruiting when he got to the $EC.

He got better when recruits saw him win a championship at lsu and then go to the nfl.

Oh, so he won a title and then got better recruits? So it's not all recruiting then? I'm confused.

Jimbo has one championship in a decade to show for all of that talent. He's under-performed tremendously if you ask me, especially when you consider the state of the Miami and UF programs during his tenure. The name of the game is National Championships. Not 9-4 after like 7 straight Top 5 classes.

I'd rather have Dantonio down here with more resources and access to better talent than Jimbo. **** yeah. Look at what happened to Chris Peterson once he went big time.

lol, you are not being honest. Read 90% of the threads on the board regarding recruiting right now and how people are frustrated with it being slow. Richt>>>>>>>>>>>>Dantonio as a recruiter.

Dantonio just went 3-9 btw.

Richt is 10 x's the recruiter Dantonio is. I only used Dantonio bc that's the name you picked, and I'm absolutely being honest. Dantonio at least beats his biggest rival on a regular basis and beats superior teams with inferior talent. You think Dantonio loses the UNC, ND, or FSU games this season?

Look, I'm more than happy with Richt, but there's more to this game than just recruiting. Urban and Saban are owning this thing bc they have both won with lesser talent before they made it big time in addition to being monster recruiters. Yes, you need the hogs, but at the end of the day, you still gotta coach. There's no reason why Lousiville should've raped FSU the way they did this year for example. None. No way FSU should be dropping games to UNC and Houston. None.

Sure, i agree FSU had more talent than those teams and shouldn't have lost. That was clearly on him. He clearly isnt a perfect coach and isn't close to the level of saban and meyer - i never said he was.

Those were 3 ranked teams though - yet you are saying you would rather have a coach that just went 3-9 including losses to northwestern, illinois and maryland? c'mon man at least be intellectually honest here.

Yearby>Cook right?

Am I right you said this?

Nope. Cook>>>>>>>yearby

I also said Jordan Scarlett was overrated.
Jordan Cronkrite was a JAG
And Mark Walton would be better than all of them, including Gus Edwards. Look it up.
