In the early '60's, we had a RB named Barry *****. Look it up at Hurricanesports, search for our all-time lettermen.

Of course, there was UM RB in '86 named JC Penny. Probably fewer and fewer of you have shopped in a JC Penney store as more and more have closed. So you might not remember him.

Years ago, I was reading HS game reports in the Herald or old Miami News and saw a RB at Marathon High, I believe, named Sky Rocket.

Who was this kid, played for LSU or Bama named Ha-Ha? Who names a kid Ha-Ha? (Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix?)

Years ago some parents named their kids "Major" . In the early '60's, there was an R&B singer named Major Lance ("Monkey Time"). Curtis Mayfield wrote his songs, both from Cabrini Green area of Chicago along with Jerry Butler, Gene Chandler ("Duke of Earl"), Dee Clark ("Raindrops"), Impressions. Major's daughter is mayor of Atlanta.

FAMU had a star player named Major Hazeltine or Hazleton. Played in the NFL, I think.

In the late '60's or early '70's there was an R&B singer named General Johnson. He and his group Chairmen of the Board had a big hit record. (Give Me Just a Little More Time").

Nope, never heard of a Lieutenant, Colonel, Sergeant, etc.
