Question? I know what happens if we win out and beat FSU in the ACCCG (Orange Bowl). But what happens if FSU and Miami win out, but we lose to them in the ACCCG? I would assume that they would play in the NC game, and therefore still slot us in the Orange Bowl since they can't play in the game.

If FSU wins out, but Bama/Oregon win out, then Oregon/Bama will meet in the NC game, slotting FSU in the Orange Bowl. Also, say one of those teams did end up losing and FSU got slotted into the NC game, if Clemson wins out I'm pretty sure they would get slotted into the Orange Bowl.

How would Clemson get the slot as they didn't win their division? We go to the orange bowl if FSU goes to the natty as we will be "2nd" in the ACC

Not likely. Clemson is ranked higher now and, unless they lose again, they'll be ranked higher than Miami after another loss in the ACCCG. Winning your division means little to nothing in the BCS era. Just ask Alabama. They won the 2012 National Championship and didn't even play in their conference championship.

If Clemson wins out, they would be 2nd in the ACC based on the BCS standings.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe when you see bowl-projections and see things like ACC-2, it doesn't mean the second place or second highest-rated ACC team. It means the second ACC team chosen for a bowl slot.

Let's say FSU wins out and one of Bama/Oregon lose and FSU gets in the NC game. Then the Orange Bowl would get to choose who they want to play in the Orange Bowl from what's left in the ACC. It's a choice based on a combination of ticket sales and ratings.

Oregon isn't playing for a title over FSU.

Yes they are.

@Ridler, I'm pretty sure it's the 2nd highest rated team in terms of the BCS.

FSU at this moment is ranked number 2. But you're right. Oregon has some marquee games left (against Stanford and Oregon St.). We were the last resume bolster and FSU has a slight lead in the rankings. If all 3 win out then FSU's on the outside looking in. Just need to hope for another Clemson loss which may come against South Carolina. After the way they **** the bed at Clemson against FSU, they have no business being ranked ahead of us. At least we made the game respectable in Tally, until the wheels fell off in the 2nd half.

FSU needs Alabama or Oregon to lose to get to the title game. Not sure what will happen though if we all win out and Oregon or Alabama loses. Also how the **** is Clemson ranked higher than us when they got their asses handed to them at home? We lost convincingly but it wasn't the brutal beating that Clemson experienced.

Under that scenario, I can't see how they don't pick Miami!

Clemson's fan following > Miami's

Amount of tickets Clemson would sell especially considering the game is in NC > 10 fold the amount of tix Miami would sell

That's why the Orange Bowl committee would likely choose Clemson. Its all about the dollar bills unfortunately.

Clemson will pull a Clemson (AKA blow another big game). What happens if Miami beats FSU in the rematch in terms of bowl implications?

Why are you talking about North Carolina? The ACCCG will be Coastal champ vs Atlantic Champ no matter what.

You're right about Clemson's fans, though. If FSU is in the NC game, the Orange Bowl would most likely pick them over Miami even if Miami is ranked higher at the end of the season.

ACC #2 doesn't mean second place, it means second choice. They'd probably take Clemson.

And we'd all be spending New Years in Atlanta slamming back Chicken Sandwiches and Waffle Fries. Could be worse.
